SAGEBRUSH CHAPTER of the Model A Ford Club of America P.O. Box 1034, Carson City, Nevada 89702 VOLUME 40 NUMBER 10 December 2018 The luncheon meeting at Red s Old 395 was a splendid affair. It was well attended (30+, Ed.), and I think we all enjoyed the stories of the previous tours conducted by the club. Congratulations to our new officers for 2019 that were elected to the meeting. Leland, President: Scott, Vice President, Dawn, Secretary, and Sandy, Treasurer. The election was almost unanimous with Scott be the only no vote I am sure they will all do a great job for the Sagebrush A s. I am looking forward to our annual Christmas party and hope to see you all there. This will be my last newsletter comments as President. I am honored to have served the last 2 years and appreciate the support you have given me and the trust you have had in me to head this fine organization with its history and tradition. John Ed. s P. S. And thanks to you, John, for doing such a neat job. It was a pleasure working with you. 2018

Deceember Hew Walker 2 Frank Benedict 6 Tom Davis 6 Linda Middleton 11 Cheryl Haney 26 Cookie & Larry Callahan 4 Nancy & Wayne Jarvis 4 1A cowboy, who just moved to Wyoming from Texas, walks into a bar and orders three mugs of Bud. He sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of each one in turn. When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more. The bartender approaches and tells the cowboy, "You know, a mug goes flat after I draw it. It would taste better if you bought one at a time." The cowboy replies, "Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is an Airborne Ranger, the other is a Navy Seal, both serving overseas somewhere. When we all left our home in Texas, we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank together. So I'm drinking one beer for each of my brothers and one for myself." The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there. The cowboy becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way. He orders three mugs and drinks them in turn. One day, he comes in and only orders two mugs. All the regulars take notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, "I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your loss." The cowboy looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his eyes and he laughs. "Oh, no, everybody's just fine," he explains, "It's just that my wife and I just joined the 1 st Baptist Church and I had to quit drinking." "Hasn't affected my brothers though. While taking a routine vandalism report at an elementary school, I was interrupted by a little girl about 6 years old. Looking up and down at my uniform, she asked, 'Are you a cop? Yes,' I answered and continued writing the report. My mother said if I ever needed help I should ask the police. Is that right?' 'Yes, that's right,' I told her. 'Well, then,' she said as she extended her foot toward me, 'would you please tie my shoe?'... 0FFICERS ADDRESSES President John Jorgensen 775 224-3345, 775 224-1833, jorgy @reagan.com Vice Pres.
