A word from the President Finally, some cooler weather! We have been blessed with some good weather to be out on the bike. However, Jean and I haven t had a lot of opportunity to ride lately because of all the other things going on. We did get to enjoy a great week at the CMA Changing of the Colors Rally. We left on Saturday morning before the rally so we could get camp set up and have a little time to visit before the events began. We camped in a different area than what we have in the last few years. We moved up top of the hill on the other side of the pavillion from where we usually camp. It was such a blessing as we met a few new folks and really hit it off with them. As usual the Praise and Worship services were so inspiring as we got to see God at work in CMA. If you didn t get to go this year you really need to start now making plans to attend next year. God is always faithful to provide us with an enjoyable and blessed rally. I would normally be reminding you to pray for elections which should be held at the November chapter meeting. However, we will not have elections as all of our leadership positions were filled at the October meeting. So, I will encourage you to be in prayer for our new leaders as they begin to seek God s will for our chapter and their lives. Be sure and check the calendar and be ready to share God s word as we serve. Make sure you are prepared for the opportunities that you will have as you ride and be sure to Wear Your COLORS. It s All About JESUS! David Smith, President State Leadership State Coordinators: Clayton & Vicki Davis Area Reps: Mike & Audra Hukins Regional Evangelist: John Ogden, Jr. Victory Riders Website

Come early, (around 6) to eat and fellowship and we will begin the meeting at 7:00 P.M. Chaplain s Corner The next morning a group of Jews got together and bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until they had killed Paul. Acts 23:12 There was something Paul didn't know as he sat in prison in Jerusalem. More than forty men had taken an oath to not or eat or drink until they had killed Paul. Now, that is what you don't want a bunch of hungry men chasing you. Don't ever deprive a man of food for too long. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. Aren't you glad that you don't know everything? I am. I am glad that I don't know the things God knows. Jesus would often blow the cover of the religious leaders and confront them about what they were thinking. He is God, and Jesus knew what was in their hearts. Sometimes it is good that we don't know what is coming, that we don't know what is around the corner. We don't know what kind of threats are aimed at us right now or even what is happening in the

supernatural world. All kinds of things are going on that we have no clue about. But God is at work. God reveals to us as much as we need to know, when we need to know it not necessarily more and certainly not less. In the military they have a term they use for sensitive information: need to know. They will say, "This is on a need-to-know basis." In the same way, if you need to know something, God will tell you. If you don't, then He won't. C. H. Spurgeon said, "The Lord knows your troubles before they come to you; he anticipates them by his tender foresight." If you are feeling lonely, if you are feeling hurt, if you are feeling betrayed or abandoned, or if you are feeling physical pain, know that Christ has been there. And He knows what is ahead of you as well. Taken from http://www.harvest.org/devotional It s all about Jesus! H.O. Berry, Chaplain Don t forget Bible Study on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 PM at Midway Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. Bring your Bible and a desire to grow in the Word. (Also bring something good to eat and share!) We are still studying the book of Hebrews. November Holidays National Diabetes Awareness Month Week 3 Game and Puzzle Week November 10th - USMC Day celebrates the birth of the United States Marine Corps. The Marine Corps has proudly served in every war that has involved the United States. If you see a Marine today, thank them for their contributions to protecting our country. Active, reserve or retired, they deserve our thanks and appreciation. Semper Fi. November 11th - Veteran's Day - A celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. November 14th - World Diabetes Day is led by the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and its member associations. It engages millions of people worldwide in diabetes advocacy and awareness. World Diabetes Day was created in 1991 by the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organization in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat that diabetes now poses. Diabetes is a growing problem in children and adults. Many see it as a looming crisis in America, due to our diets, and more sedentary lifestyles. In the case of Type 2, it can often be avoided or delayed with diet and exercise. November 24 - Thanksgiving Day In 1863, in the midst of the Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln proclaimed a national Thanksgiving Day to be held each November. Congress finally made Thanksgiving Day an official national holiday in 1941. Sarah Josepha Hale petitioned for a national Thanksgiving holiday for close to 40 years, believing that "Thanksgiving, like the Fourth of July, should be considered a national festival and observed by all our people." She was also an enormously influential magazine editor and author of the classic nursery rhyme Mary Had a Little Lamb.
