P A G E 2 IT S TIME TO PRAY As the Pastor Search Committee continues to pray and meet together, now is the time for each member of Wrightsboro Baptist Church to fervently be praying! Here are a few ideas for our daily prayer times: 1. Begin with Adoration & Praise: Focus on God s glory and greatness - Psalm 96:1-4 2. Continue with Confession & Repentance of known sins - Psalm 139:23-24 3. Then give Thanks To The Lord - Psalm 100:3-5 God Loves us one and all and has a plan for our Church and our future Pastor. 4. Finally, Surrender & Submit your will over to God - Luke 22:42 Jesus prayed, Not my will but thy will be done. ; James 4:7 Submit yourselves to God...Come near to God and He ll come near to you. Henry Blackaby says in Experiencing God - God is always at work around us and pursues a continuing love relationship with us that is real and personal. This means ALL of us as a Church are invited to be involved with God in His great work of leading a new Senior Pastor to our Church. So Pray People Pray!! To God be the Glory, Pastor Mike http://www.facebook.com/groups/34584332542/
P A G E 3 From the Pastor Search Committee The Pastor Search Committee wants to thank the congregation at Wrightsboro Baptist Church for your continued prayers and support as we prayerfully sort through more than three hundred resumes for our next Senior Pastor. This process can be challenging at times on the committee as we spend many hours reviewing resumes while working, taking care of our families, attending school, as well as assuming other tasks during the week. We could not accomplish this duty that God and the church has called us to do without your daily prayers and support. We thank God for giving us this opportunity to serve Him and the church. Kent Harrell will continue to present monthly committee progress updates to the congregation and we will continue to be transparent in order to keep you updated. Please pray for spiritual discernment for the committee during this crucial step in our process. God Bless You, Billy Fowler, Chairman www.wrightsborobaptistchurch.org
P A G E 4 Hola mis hermanos y hermanas en Cristo, Minister of Students Don t be impressed, the only other words I know in Spanish are connected to food! What follows is a very condensed history of WBC s recent ministry at Carrol C Mobile Home Park. It is becoming apparent that God is directing us, in some way, to be a ministry presence right in our front yard. I am sharing this with the church body so all of us could be praying for God s next move and the faith to follow Him. I believe all of this started with Pray For Every Home in February 2016, when many of us were reminded that when we pray for our neighbors it is God who opens our eyes to see them as He does. It s not that God begins to work around us because He is always working, it s that our Kingdom focus becomes more acute and we see how God is working and we feel the urgency to be a part of His work. He uses many ways, even hurricanes, to accomplish His work. It was after Hurricane Matthew, on the Bloom Outreach Saturday, that many of us were led to help a family at Carrol C rebuild a portion of their home that was damaged by a large tree during the storm. After praying for materials, watching God deliver them, much labor by many people, and sharing God s love in word and deeds; the home repair was completed by January. We thought we had accomplished God s task. However, God kept Jorge, one of the neighbors who helped us, in our hearts and lives in the months that followed. Jorge was especially drawn to Donnie Gore and it was through that relationship that we met Jorge s friend Carlos who was hurt in a construction accident. We met with them, prayed for Carlos healing and continued to minister through broken English and terrible Spanish on our part. After talking to Roy Smith of the WBA, it was decided that Donnie, Roy, Pastor Ramiro Soto of Neuvo Pacto Iglesia (NPI), and myself would meet and discern what God s purpose is in all this. We had a great meeting and for the past month, NPI has been leading a Bible Study on Sunday afternoons in the house of Carlos and Linda. We love going there to be a part of studying God s Word even though we don t understand it all. To see the communication barrier broken down and a love for God being expressed by those we have been ministering to is worth all the effort. Please pray for God to use us in however He determines. We are giving God carte blanche on this, since we don t want to impose our frail thinking on His plan. We would love to hold a block party/backyard Bible Club there this summer, so we would like for you to pray for: Favor with the park administration. Others to begin to join us in Bible Study with the goal of sharing the Gospel with them. Wisdom as WBC and NPI move forward following God s direction. Unity of purpose and vision. Remember, God does not always call the equipped but He always equips those that He calls. Spiritual awakening to begin at Carrol C and expand into this whole community. Together in the Journey of Faith, Stuart.
P A G E 5 Just a closer walk with Thee, Grant it Jesus is my plea, Daily Walking close to Thee, Let it be, dear Lord, Let it be. Although the author/composer of this spiritual is unknown, the following story is told to illustrate the heart of the song. A father who often travels, works long hours and seldom sees his 10 year old son leaves this note: Will be in Far East on your birthday, but back Saturday with a gift. What would you like...video game, bike, stereo? Circle the one you want. The father, who could afford about anything the boy wanted, later saw what his son circled Saturday. Most of all, the boy wanted to know his father. Thankfully, we don t have an absentee heavenly Father! He is always there for us! How deeply do we desire to know Him and spend time with Him? I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Philippians 3:8 I Love You All! Peggy
