PETITIONS AND COMMUNICATIONS Council Members announced community meetings, committee meeting and community events/activities in the various communities throughout their districts. Council Members spoke on the following: all students were wished a great upcoming school year; the need of volunteering and providing needed support within the schools; an incident that occurred at 6 th & Bayard A venue; Thrillist named "Wilmington One of America's Best Small Cities to Move To Before They Get Too Popular"; folks were thanked for support of various events; FOIA ruling by the Attorney General's Office; discretionary funds and the need to have discussion regarding such funds at a Finance Committee meeting; DMV Program at a mobile van at Adams Four; Parks & Recreation Director was thanked for the improved parks; well wishes for a fast recovery was expressed to Councilman Congo; the upcoming wrap up of the Strategic Plan; citizens were encouraged to tune in to WITN Channel 22 for the schedule of civic association meetings as well as other things that are happening in the City of Wilmington; Councilmembers were reminded of the expansion of the programmatic lineup of Channel 22 and therefore Council will have an opportunity to share with constituents more of 6
things happening in their respective districts; Westside Grows were congratulated on the completion of another great park (second park of the three-park plan); issue of mosquitoes in the Southbridge area and residents were encouraged to stay tune of an upcoming plan of action; and including but not limited to Councilmembers were informed to contact the President of any questions pertaining to the operation of City Council.
