FROM FR. JOE We had a great party this past Sunday. We sent out 400 invitations to our volunteers at my two parishes, and had 183 join us for our first annual appreciation dinner! We gathered at the Woods for a superb luncheon of Chicken and Tips. People really seemed to enjoy themselves. I sure did! People even laughed at my jokes. We are going to do this again next year in January. It is just a small way for Cathedral and St. John's to thank our many volunteers that make so much possible, and to have some fun! Part of being parish is to develop strong bonds of affection and friendship. I'm grateful for the past two and a half years in which I have been warmly welcomed at both my parishes. Thank you. Let's keep reaching out to the newcomers, making them feel welcome and getting them involved! Both St. John's and Cathedral have special charisms of service to the broader Green Bay area. St. John's is recognized as the center of the Deaf and Homeless minister. The Cathedral is recognized as the Mother Church and is called to serve the bishop in a unique manner. As a result, I often see new faces on the weekends. Let's break away from our circle of friends after Mass now and then, and reach out to the stranger. We have a lot to offer, and I know they too have a lot to offer us as we strive to live and share the Gospel! Fr. Joe CONFIRMATION Important Dates The date of the Confirmation parent/confirmand/sponsor meeting has been changed. The meeting, originally scheduled for March 23rd has been RESCHEDULED to Tuesday, March 21st at 6:30pm in the Bishop Wycislo Center at the Cathedral. Also, please mark your calendars for Thursday, May 25th and Friday, May 26th from 4-6pm as these are the dates for Confirmation interviews with Father Dorner. Fully Alive The next Adult Faith Formation session is Thursday February 17th from 6:00 pm 7:30 pm in the Mazzuchelli Hall at St John the Evangelist. The theme for this session is the first chapter of Ephesians and will reference one of Jeff Cavins programs from his Great Adventure series. The Letter of St. Paul to the Ephesians: Discover Y our Inheritance will enrich your faith, and show you how to live it out. All are welcome.
