CMC Library Book Notes 220.61Goo The Bible Unwrapped: Making Sense of Scripture Today (Herald Press 2018) by Meghan Larissa Good, teaching pastor at Trinity Mennonite Church, Glendale, Ariz., teaches that the Bible is not a how-to for life but a window through which we can... encounter the living Christ. One reader found it to be poetic at times, hilarious other times, and deeply informed by solid scholarship. 248.4Yam Four Gifts: Seeking Self-Care For Heart, Soul, Mind And Strength (Herald Press 2018) is by April Yamasaki, pastor at Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Abbotsford, B.C., who is known as a story-teller, speaker, and writer on spiritual growth and Christian living. The book answers the question, How does self-care differ from selfish and selfindulgent living? Among the many short chapters are these: Heart in Community, Sabbath as Self-Care, Minding Your Digital World, and Strength in Weakness.
