Page 6 Bible Baptism There are two great errors in regard to Baptism: Some teach that one cannot be saved without Baptism Some teach that Baptism is of no importance and that no manner Baptism should be taught. There are three commands in the great commission and Baptism is one of them. Jesus said in Matthew 28:19, Go ye therefore, and teach all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Ghost. Baptism is for believers only, because Baptism is an open profession of faith in Christ as Savior. One must believe first. Baptism does not save. People are saved by faith in Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith, and not of yourselves, it is a gift of God, not of works, lest any should boast. Ephesians 2:8,9. The story of the thief on the cross in Luke 23:39-43 is proof that only faith in Christ Jesus is all that saves. There are no babies Baptized in the Bible. Infant Baptism leaves the impression that the religion of the Lord Jesus Christ is a matter of ritual, and not personal faith. Infant Baptism also leaves the impression that a change of heart is not necessary. BAPTISM IS A SHOW OF FAITH IN, AND OBEDIENCE TO CHRIST JESUS. This form of Baptism requires water, Matthew 3:11, Mark 1:8. Then much water, St. John 3:23 says John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim because there was much water there. Baptizing requires a going down into the water. Acts 8:38-39 THE WORD BAPTIZE MEANS IMMERSE. Page 7 Members Information Our first and foremost concern is that you are certain about your SALVATION. So before we go on any further, we d like to provide you with the following information concerning your identity with Christ and your SALVATION. FOUR THINGS GOD WANTS YOU TO KNOW Your Need for Salvation You should first realize that you need salvation which means to be separated from unsaved sinners. That begins when you accept the fact that you are an unsaved sinner on your own, however; through Christ you can be separated from the unsaved sinner and transformed into a SINNER SAVED BY GRACE. The following scriptures should explain it better: Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Isaiah 64:6 We are all as an unclean thing and all our righteousness are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. You Are Unable To Save Yourself You and I both are sinners. Consequently, we are unable to save ourselves. Our bible tells us that no man, woman, boy or girl is justified to save themselves. Thanks be to God that it is a gift and all you have to do is accept the gift, Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God: Not of works, least any man should boast. Salvation Has Been Provided For You Through Jesus Christ Our Lord John 3:16 God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away: behold, all things become new. 2 Corinthians 5:21 He hath made Him (Jesus) to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. You Can Receive Salvation By Trusting Christ John 1:12 As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession made unto salvation.

Sunday School Page 10 Lesson Topics for January 2016 The Scriptural passage II Tim. 2:15, Study to show thyself approved unto God, is one of the most quoted passages in the New Testament. The Sunday school is the best format for achieving this command. Its main thrust is to teach the Bible systematically so that people may be brought into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a personal knowledge of the triune God. May we discover through doubt and anguish, The strength to live with dignity and holiness. May we discover through fear and discouragement, The strength to move toward healing. May it come to pass that we be restored to health and vigor. May life grant us wellness of body, spirit, and mind. And if this cannot be so, may we find in this transformation and passage, Moments of meaning opportunities for love, And the deep and gracious calm that comes, When we allow ourselves to move on.
