The only gathering on campus tomorrow will be the 6 p.m. Open Gym. Wednesday, September 6: Family Night of Prayer Be sure to make reservations today, and plan to attend a Chick-fil-A meal night on September 6, from 5 6 p.m. when we observe a special schedule for Family Night of Prayer. Sandwiches and chicken nuggets will be served along with chips, a cookie, and the usual Wednesday night drinks. We will gather for just a few minutes at 6 p.m. in the Worship Center for instructions from Pastor Babb, and for the forming of prayer groups. You can stay together as a family and combine smaller families to make groups that will go from location to location on campus to pray for the ministries that occur throughout our church and school campus. It will be both educational and inspirational as we spend a brief night in prayer for what God is doing at First Baptist Church. www.fbccenterton.org 1

Local Mission Opportunity Listen for Pastor Babb s radio invitations this week on KURM radio as we gear up to meet our neighbors at the city park on Centerton Day, September 9. More volunteers are need because Pastor Bob Metcalf has changed his plan to head up the group, and is going to Houston instead to serve for a week with the Arkansas Baptist Disaster Relief feeding unit at the Convention Center. He will be available to receive your questions and assign you a role today after the service. Pastor Babb will be present along David Armstrong and Bobbie Griffith with plans meet our neighbors and to engage the unsaved, unreached, and unchurched with the Gospel of Christ and an invitation to investigate the ministries of our church. We will have a couple of tents for shade, and will be giving away cold water and popcorn to folks who stop by to visit. More volunteers are needed so we don t have to scale back our plans for representing our church and the Lord. An Invitation to Our Church Family from Alyssa Francis and Josh Junyor Alyssa and Josh invite you to share in their happiness Saturday, September 9, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Centerton, with a reception to follow their wedding ceremony. Children s Ministry Update Laura Tidwell, Interim Director of Childhood Ministries, Phone: 479.883.2137 Email: ltidwell@lwcsar.com GAK (God's Amazing Kids) IS BACK! It is for kids grades kindergarten through 6th and takes place every Wednesday from 6:00-7:30 p.m.. We will have Bible study, games, memory verse games/activities, and missions! We would LOVE to have everyone signed up in advance to help our registration crew. SIGN UP TODAY using this link: https://myfbc.ccbchurch.com/form_response.php?id=114 Each week we'll continue our study out of Proverbs called, "The Way of the Wise." We are also trying to memorize 1 Corinthians 3:11, that reads For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ." Each week also includes a missions study (this month it's Ecuador) and games! Join us!! Speaking of GAK, we will not have GAK or Mission Friends in the usual way on Wednesday, September 6. Instead, we will have a "Family Prayer Night." We encourage all parents to include their children as they participate as a family in this night of prayer. Some families may miss the announcements regarding the special nature of this night. If children attend without their own family, it will be a great time for other families (or GAK/Mission Friends leaders where possible) to include a few extra kids in their group as we have multiple small groups praying over the facilities and ministries of FBC Centerton. Make plans to join us! Family Scavenger Hunt Our next family fellowship will be a Bible Scavenger Hunt. It will be on Sunday, September 24 www.fbccenterton.org 3

at 4:30. Families will be given clues to look up in their Bibles that will lead them to different spots on campus to find more clues and tokens. The first family back with all the tokens wins a gift basket of goodies including movie passes! We'll finish the game with cookies and drinks, and then we can all attend the Lord's Supper and monthly Family Fellowship. It will be so fun! RSVP using this link: https://myfbc.ccbchurch.com/goto/forms/120/responses/new Operation Christmas Child Last year we were able to pack around 60 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child (OCC). This year, we thought we may be able to pack even more if we begin collection early! So, starting this week we began collecting items to fill up our shoeboxes! The August items are school supplies (pencils, markers, erasers, scissors, notebooks, etc.) We will have boxes near the checkin desks and near the gym each Wednesday. Our packing party (when we actually put the items in the shoeboxes) will be November 15. FBC Centerton Family Ski Trip This year we are headed to Winter Park, Colorado, March 17-22. The estimated cost (dependent upon what type of condo you stay in and whether you ski or not) will be $500 for adults and $410 for kids ages 12 and under. Are you interested in going with us this spring? We will have an informational meeting TODAY, September 3, after church in the Fellowship Hall. We also know it's a holiday weekend, so if you're out of town and are interested, you can contact Ashley Grisham at 479-531-0441 or agrisham@lwcsar.com.
