Radhakrishna Prasad, General Manager, IOB 2

Hereafter, every issue of, starting with this issue, is going to carry sayings of Guruji relating to the topic of Brahman. This quote of Guruji will hereafter appear at the start of this part of. The sayings are from Swami Raghavendra told to us by Guruji. If you do a compilation of these you will have with you the complete lecture on Brahman. WHAT IS BRAHMAN? IT IS A NICE AND VERY SIMPLE QUESTION BUT THE ANSWER IS VERY COMPLICATED. IT MAY TAKE EVEN A FULL LIFE TO UNDERSTAND OR IT MAY TAKE FEW HOURS TO UNDERSTAND. THAT DEPENDS UPON THE RECEPTIVE POWER OF UNDERSTANDING OF THE STUDENT. BRAHMAN MEANS NATURE. -KAMAKSHI BABA Do NOT sell the house Guruji replied to Subba Reddy when Subba Reddy asked Guruji whether the house he had newly constructed could be disposed of. The house was very well designed and done up with great taste. Somehow there was something indescribable and queer about it. It was not looking okay from a homeliness point of view. Subba Reddy has been a devotee of Guru Kamakshi Baba for several years and would blindly obey whatever instructions Guruji gave him. Five years back, Subba Reddy on the advice of Guruji had purchased a plot of land in 1986 at Hyderabad and in1989 started construction. In 1990 he moved in with his family. But the stay in the new house was not pleasant. Unable to describe why, Subba Reddy and his family felt a sense of disturbance in the house as though there was presence of some invisible being there. When this continued for some time, he called up to Guruji in Hyderabad asking whether the house could be sold. Guruji said that he should not sell the house as it would bring him considerable fortune and peace of mind. Subba Reddy explained that there was some unknown feeling of some presence inside the house, an invisible presence that left the family members uncomfortable. No doubt nothing untoward had happened nor could they pin point specific happening to validate their feeling. Guruji told Subba Reddy not to worry and that He and Mukund mama would visit the house. As promised Guruji and Mukund mama came in about fifteen days time. They went around the house. Guruji said that all of them should chant Mahakali Khadgamala in the first floor of the house. He asked for water to be brought in a small vessel and kept in prayers. He went into deep prayers. After the pooja He asked Mukund mama to sprinkle the holy water all over the house, particularly on the floors and to cover every single room. Mukund mama could accomplish the task all over the house except in the first floor in the south-west corner. He was being pushed back by an invisible force. He came back and reported to Guruji. 3

Yes, there is a Mouli who died years ago in this vicinity and his spirit is camping in the house. He is refusing to leave the place. That is the feeling you got of a physical yet unseen force trying to prevent you from sprinkling water. (Mouli is a Muslim priest). Guruji told Subba Redy and his wife that only the two of them should accompany Guruji to the bathroom and pour water on Him as He began entering into a trance. (In such circumstances about which devotees are aware, Guruji becomes an Avadooth and is in prayers when being bathed). Accordingly Subba Reddy and his wife took Guruji to the bathroom and locking the door gave Him a bath. Subba Reddy and his wife were awe struck saying that during the entire time only Guruji s chest, shoulders and head was visible to them and not the lower portion of Guruji s body. Guruji proceeded to the south-west corner carrying with Him a candle after lighting it in the pooja room. In the extreme south-west corner, an attached bath cum toilet had been constructed for use by the servant. Inside that bathroom a wall two feet high separated the bath from the toilet. He placed the candle delicately on the top of this two foot wall. Then staring into it He tried to blow the light off. The candle light would not be blown off. Then slowly He closed His eyes and prayed. Moving towards the candle He blew air. It was not air that came out but blood. Guruji spat blood and the candle got extinguished. The Mouli has left said Guruji. He is a good person, very spiritual, and did not want to leave. But his being here is not very congenial when there is a family residing Guruji explained. Subsequently Guruji was to recall this incident when talking to devotees. He said He invoked Rakhta Chandi when the Mouli was stubborn and not willing to leave the house. For persons who have attained this Siddhi, invoking Rakhta Chandi brings out blood in one form or the other. At times it may be a cut in the finger or bleeding from the mouth whereby blood is given out. Subba Reddy recalls that the house indeed was very blessed. When the family looks back, that period they resided there in Hyderabad has been one of the best times for the family. Today the family are settled in Chennai. In this issue of, we enclose the hard copies of the Annual reports of Divine Mother Society and Trust. The Income & Expenditure Account and Balance sheet for the financial year 2012-13 are attached. nd GAATE RAHE MERA DIL held on 22 June 2013 organizes music shows as fund raisers, atleast once a year. For the event held on 22nd June 2013, review by The New Indian Express is given below: Evergreen melodies touch a chord ***Gaata Rahe Mera Dil s retro music evening Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham held on Saturday presented a melodious range of songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s. They are one of the earliest retro music groups in the city. And they probably know the pulse of the Chennai music crowd better than anyone. Gaata Rahe Mera Dil, a music initiative by (Divine Mother Society), centred the theme on happy and melancholic numbers from eras long past. The long list of singers for the show comprised both well-known stage performers and new faces with city-based Surojit Guha, Sangeeta Melekar from Mumbai and Rana Chatterjee and Mukhtar Shah, both making their maiden appearance on the city s music scene. The show had a variety of voices for the evening. Guha rendered songs by Kishore Kumar, Talat Mahmood and Hemant Kumar; Rana Chatterjee sang numbers by Mohammad Rafi and Manna Dey and Shah presented Mukesh s hits. The singers were supported by the Evergreen Orchestra, a Calicut-based group. Beginning with the Asha Bhosle hit Shokh Nazar (Woh Kaun Thi?), Melekar set the tempo for the show that alternated between songs that were inspired by the two important human emotions. Guha deftly juggled between numbers of legendary singers with a haunting Yaa Dil Ki Suno (Anupama), lilting Phir Wohi Shaam (Jahan Ara) and Yeh Kya Hua (Amar Prem). Chatterjee adeptly delivered in Dey (Laaga Chunari Mein Daag from Dil Hi Toh Hai, Zindagi Kaisi Hai (Anand) and Rafi (Deewana Hua Baadal from Kashmir Ki Kali). In Mukesh s voice Shah effectively executed with aplomb the challenge of singing in the voice that is hard to emulate. Melekar and an upcoming young singer Priyanka played their part with mellifluous renditions of numbers by Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle and Sharada. Showcasing some of the finest works by several music directors from Naushad to R D Burman, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham lived up to its promise of taking music lovers on a voyage replete with khushi and gham. Music composer Baradwaj was the chief guest for the evening. *** 5
