Please remember them in your daily prayers. And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered Joel 2:32 Why do I not call on His name? Why do I run to this neighbor or that friend when God is so near and will hear my faintest call? Why do I sit down and devise schemes and invent plans? Why not at once roll myself and my burden upon the Lord? Why do I not run at once to the living God? In vain I look for deliverance elsewhere, but with God I shall find it; for here I have His royal shall to make it sure. Whosoever means me, for it means anybody and everybody who calls upon God. My case is urgent and I do not see how I am to be delivered, but this is no business of mine. He who makes the promise will find ways and means of keeping it. It is mine to obey His commands; it is not mine to direct His counsels. I am His servant, not His solicitor. I call upon Him and He will deliver! From C. H. Spurgeon Come pray with us on Wednesday evening 6:00-7:30 in the chapel as we pray for our church, our community, our nation and ourselves! The chapel or the sanctuary are always open for prayer Come walk the premises and pray for the church and its ministries as you walk. Join a prayer group or start a prayer group. Would you be interested in praying for our services? See a prayer team member if you need help getting started!

Worship Committee Prayer is Worship Prayer cannot be successfully separated from worship for it prepares the soul for worship, expresses the spirit in worship and interacts with God, which is worship. Worship without prayer is like the day without light, a choir without music, a school without students...the praying saint cannot keep from worshipping, the prayer less saint cannot rise to worship. We d better get serious about prayer if we want a lifestyle of worship. Our goal is to be in constant communion with GOD. During Jesus time of trial in the garden of Gethsemane, he asked his disciples to pray. What did they do? They all fell asleep, and look what happened to them. They scattered throughout the area; Peter even went as far as to deny the lord, not once but THREE TIMES. True worshippers learn to be PRAYER WARRIORS. We can t expect to Sleep as Jesus called it, all week long and then run to church on Sunday to find the presence of God. Why wait. We can commune with Him every day. A couple of reasons to pray. First and foremost, Prayer is an act of worship. A paying homage to our Father in heaven. Secondly, prayer develops humility by bringing us to the point of total dependence upon God. Third, Continuing in prayer will lead us to the realization that without him we can do nothing of lasting value. When we agree with God in prayer, He shows himself strong on behalf of his people and he alone will reign supreme in the kingdom of our hearts. Achieving communion with God of the universe is the essence and goal of worship. Prayer must be our bolt to lock-up the night, our key to open the day. During times of prayer we receive guidance and direction that will keep us firmly in the center of God s will throughout the day Shalom, Dave Johnson

Communication... Health Update We got the results from my PET scan and spinal MRI. It wasn t what we were hoping for. The results showed that the cancers in my back and my liver had grown, grown a lot. My lymph nodes were about the same except for my left adrenal gland and the right side of my neck. Both places showed moderate growth. Fortunately, my lungs were about the same. Since then, I ve completed 2 weeks of radiation to my spine and have some pain relief in that area. I m scheduled to restart chemo in a couple of days with some different drugs. I m prayerful that it will help, especially my liver. I currently live in pain around the clock and sometimes I can t function at all. The pain pills help, but don t eliminate it. I don t sleep well and my appetite has been reduced. It s a struggle just to maintain some semblance of a daily routine. Please be in prayer for both Nikki and me. I know that God is good and has the power to heal. I just pray that the Lord finds me worthy of His healing grace. I feel like I have many good things left to do in life and I m looking forward to the day when I can shout from the rooftops Praise the Lord... God found me worthy and healed me. Also, please keep Nikki s Father in your prayers. He is 93 and now in a nursing home in Ardmore, OK. He is suffering from congestive heart failure and his Doctor is not hopeful. Thankfully, Nikki was able to make a recent visit and see him. One more thing, on Thursday the 19th, our last kitty, Smokey, passed. He was with us for 19 years and we miss him terribly. When we got home from Doctor appointments, we found him and spent a good part of that night burying him in the backyard. They say God never gives you more than you can handle, but I gotta say Enough is Enough! John Wesley stated, Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can. Pine Forest you have been faithful to those words through your support of missions with your prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Thank you!
