Service of Divine Worship March 17, 2019 5:15 PM Large-print worship guides are available from an usher. We rest our hearts in God s presence as we prepare for worship PRELUDE We celebrate God s presence with us and ask for his Spirit to work powerfully among us WELCOME & INVOCATION God calls us to worship him in spirit and in truth CALL TO WORSHIP PSALM 65:1-4 Leader: Praise is due to you, O God, in Zion, and to you shall vows be performed. O you who hear prayer, to you shall all flesh come. People: When iniquities prevail against me, you atone for our transgressions. Leader: Blessed is the one you choose and bring near, to dwell in your courts! People: We shall be satisfied with the goodness of your house, the holiness of your temple! 1

We sing praises to God for who he is and for what he has done SONGS OF PRAISE BEHOLD OUR GOD Who has held the oceans in his hands? Who has numbered every grain of sand? Kings and nations tremble at his voice. All creation rises to rejoice. Chorus: Behold our God, seated on his throne. Come let us adore him! Behold our King, nothing can compare. Come let us adore him! Who has given counsel to the Lord? Who can question any of his words? Who can teach the One who knows all things? Who can fathom all his wondrous deeds? Chorus Who has felt the nails upon his hands, bearing all the guilt of sinful man? God eternal, humbled to the grave. Jesus, Savior, risen now to reign! Chorus Men: You will reign forever. Women: Let your glory fill the earth. (repeat) Chorus 2x CCLI Song #5937510; Words & Music by Baird & Altrogge; 2011 Sovereign Grace Worship (ASCAP)/Sovereign Grace Praise (BMI); CCLI License #152421 FOREVER (WE SING HALLELUJAH) The moon and stars, they wept, the morning sun was dead; The Savior of the world was fallen. His body on the cross, his blood poured out for us; The weight of ev ry curse upon him. One final breath he gave as heaven looked away; The Son of God was laid in darkness. A battle in the grave, the war on death was waged; The pow r of hell forever broken. Prechorus: The ground began to shake, the stone was rolled away; His perfect love could not be overcome. Now, death, where is your sting? Our resurrected King has rendered you defeated. Chorus: Forever he is glorified; forever he is lifted high. Forever he is risen; he is alive, he is alive. (Prechorus, Chorus) Bridge: We sing hallelujah, we sing hallelujah, we sing hallelujah; The Lamb has overcome. (repeat) Chorus 2x CCLI Song #7001228; Words & Music by B. Johnson, K. Jobe, J. Johnson, G. Wilson, J. Taylor, & C.B. Gifford; 2013 KAJE Songs, Worship Together Music, Bethel Music Publishing; CCLI License #152421 2

We acknowledge our need of forgiveness and renewal through the cleansing blood of Jesus CONFESSION OF SIN BASED ON ISAIAH 55, PSALM 19, AND PROVERBS 3 Father in heaven, Creator of all, as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are your ways higher than our ways and your thoughts higher than our thoughts. Forgive us for thinking we know better than you. Forgive us for disregarding your law and ignoring your counsel. Forgive us for being wise in our own eyes and leaning on our own understanding. By your Spirit, help us to trust in you with all our hearts and to treasure your word more than gold. Enlighten our eyes by your perfect law, and cause our hearts to rejoice in your commandments. Let the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable in your sight, O Lord. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our Rock and our Redeemer. Amen. God reminds us of his promise of forgiveness in Christ ASSURANCE OF PARDON PSALM 130:3-4 If you, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared. We enjoy and extend the peace of the gospel to one another GIVING OF THE PEACE Leader: Because we are forgiven in Christ, we now have peace with God and with one another. May the peace of Christ be with you. People: And also with you! 3

We welcome new members into our church family NEW MEMBER RECEPTION & BAPTISM We give thanks to God and bring our needs to him CONGREGATIONAL PRAYER You can join us in praying for our community and world this evening; the Flock Notes are on page 9 in your worship guide. We ready our hearts to receive the preaching of God s word SONG OF PREPARATION LET YOUR KINGDOM COME Your glorious cause, O God, engages our hearts. May Jesus Christ be known wherever we are. We ask not for ourselves, but for your renown. The cross has saved us so we pray, Your kingdom come. Chorus: Let your kingdom come, let your will be done, So that everyone might know your name. Let your song be heard everywhere on earth, Til your sovereign work on earth is done. Let your kingdom come. Give us your strength, O God, and courage to speak. Perform your wondrous deeds through those who are weak. Lord, use us as you want, whatever the test. By grace we ll preach your gospel til our dying breath. Chorus 2x Let your kingdom come.
