3 Bridges to Forever! C amas County s hüge southside bridge replacement project races ahead! The top photo shows the forms being prepared to cast a big concrete beam on the new steel piers of the Mormon Road main channel bridge. Above right, rebar and piers are in place for the Mormon Road bypass bridge, awaiting concrete. And above left, Ted Strickler and Tony Dalin build the abutments for Bridge No. 3, over 500 East. The old 500 East timber bridge was the home after the bridge was closed to an energetic colony of barn swallows.
The Camas Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring a Fall Themed Outdoor Decorating Contest for 2015. This event is open to businesses, individuals or groups. Sign up by October 18 th, at the Camas Creek Country Store if you want to participate. Judging will be held during the week of October 19 th - 24 th. Ribbons will be awarded to 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place winners. Winners will be announced at the Camas PTO Harvest Fest on October 24 th at 6:30 pm.
