For October, we will travel by commercial bus to Mayberry/Mt. Airy, NC. Cost is $35.00 per person which includes bus fare, step-on guide and gratuities. Departure is on October 10 at 9:15am from the horseshoe and return around 6:30pm. We will have lunch at Snappy's Luncheon around 11-11:30am. We need a minimum of 30 participants (maximum 56) with reservations and payment by September 30th. ECCCM Urgent Need: Are you looking for a way to eliminate hunger in our community? We have an opportunity for you! ECCCM is in need of grocery pickup volunteers who go to local grocery stores and pick up groceries to be distributed through our food pantry. Volunteers are needed on the 3rd and 5th Friday and the 3rd Saturday of each month. On call volunteers are needed as backup when regular drivers are unavailable. Pregnancy Care Center of Hickory has invited all churches to attend a special evening of theater with Acts of Renewal performers Jim and Carol Shore - www.actsofrenewal.com. This event will take the place of the "Walk for Life." Please join the PPC of Hickory on Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 7:00-8:30pm at Harvest Bible Chapel of Hickory - 909 US-70, Hickory. Donations will be accepted. Doors open at 6:30pm and light desserts will be served. The Concordia Lutheran Laymen s League LLL is again sponsoring the Catawba County Backpack Program for the 2016/2017 school year. Each Thursday we deliver 50 bags of food that include 5 meals and 3 snacks for children in need. If you would like to make a donation to the program, please make checks payable to LLL, memo Backpack Program and give to Terry Kuchenbecker, Cliff Brown, Brandon Elrod, Doug Brady, David or Caleb Welch, or Roger Shull. We will purchase food in bulk for the program. It is a wonderful ministry so please pray for us as we feed God s children.

These words, Given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins, show us that in the Sacrament forgiveness of sins, life, and salvation are given us through these words. These words, along with the bodily eating and drinking, are the main thing in the Sacrament. Anyone who has questions is invited to speak to the pastor or elder before communing. The cups in the center of the tray are filled with a white non-alcoholic wine and gluten free wafers are available for those with allergies.
