The Mass Eucharistic Liturgy Explain the relationship of Liturgy to the Paschal Mystery (CCC #1409.) Explain/outline the structure of the Mass and describe why, in the words of Vatican II, the Mass is the source and summit in the life of the Christian. (CCC #1407.) Understand the historical development of liturgy in the Church. Able to define the term creed and distinguish between the Apostles' Creed and the Nicene Creed. Able to express a basic understanding of the following concepts: Trinity, Incarnation, Paschal Mystery, Holy Spirit, Communion of Saints, grace, and glory. Able to explain the meaning of the hierarchy of truths in Catholic doctrine. Able to define the following terms: faith, theology, magisterium, tradition, Tradition, doctrine, dogma. Social Teaching Able to understanding the key tenets of Catholic Social Teaching. Able to be more aware of injustices in local communities and in the world. Able to work through a process which will help participants assess a need in their communities, reflect on the root causes and Church s social teaching of that issue, and be involved with both social outreach (charity) and social transformation (justice) through action.
