WORDS OF WELCOME and ANNOUNCEMENTS PRELUDE and LIGHTING OF THE ALTAR CANDLES Timbrel and Dance by Kevin McChesney *RESPONSIVE GREETING Leader: This is a day to celebrate new life, to open our ears to the sounds of God s world, to open our eyes to the beauty of creation. People: We are glad for green grass and flowers, for the music of birds and raindrops. This is a day of gladness and joy; we remember Jesus, who welcomed all people and recognized the value of each one. We are glad for Jesus, our helper and our friend. Jesus is alive! His Spirit lives in us, helping us when we are afraid or lonely or ashamed or sad. Jesus shows us how much God loves us, and lets us know we are forgiven. Be glad today! Let us rejoice together! Life is good! We are accepted and loved! *HYMN OF PRAISE #89 UMH Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee tune: Hymn to Joy *AFFIRMATION OF FAITH #881 The Apostles Creed Traditional Version Leader: Let us unite in this historic profession of the Christian faith: All: I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord: who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,

suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. *GLORIA PATRI #70 UMH Glory Be to the Father tune: Meineke Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen! Amen! SHARING OF PRAYER CONCERNS and JOYS MORNING PRAYER, concluding with THE LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
