WELCOME TO WORSHIP IN THE PARK Enter this area not as a stranger, but as a guest of God. May the blessings of God rest upon you, both in your coming in and your going out. ORDER FOR THE PUBLIC WORSHIP OF GOD WE GATHER BEFORE GOD THE WELCOME AND NEWS OF THE CHURCH Please take time during the Prelude to meditate & prepare for worship. *THE PRELUDE Once Upon a Christmas Connie & Mike Segeleon John Hamilton *THE CALL TO WORSHIP *THE HYMN Joy to the World Angels We Have Heard on High *PRAYER OF CONFESSION (In unison) Our God and Father: You have given us the hope of salvation through Your Son, the Divine Christ Child, and You have sealed Your promise by giving us the Holy Spirit. Yet we are full of doubts, and we fail to trust in Your faithfulness. We are captured by our hearts desires, while you desire to capture and possess more of our hearts. Forgive us for choosing to walk in darkness rather than in the light of Your Presence. Have mercy on us as we have failed to tell others of the hope we have in Christ. Restore us and make us new this day, we pray, in the name of Jesus. Amen. THE SILENT CONFESSION THE ASSURANCE OF PARDON *THE HYMN O Come, All Ye Faithful vs 1 & chorus 2

Opportunities to Host Kawiya Visitors that we may be mutually encouraged by each other s faith. Romans 1:12 The personal connections between individuals from our two churches are at the heart of the partnership between Bethany and Kawiya. Hosting a Kawiya guest in your home for a few days is a wonderful opportunity for you and your family to develop a relationship with them, to exchange faith and life experiences and to extend the hospitality and love of Jesus Christ. Host families must be able to provide their guest a bedroom, be available to spend time with them in the evening and provide meals. Group activities will be planned for the day and host families are encouraged to accompany their guest on these outings when possible (around work and school). Hosts must also attend one of the Pittsburgh Presbytery sponsored training session (TBD). There are three hosting periods. Place a check mark in the appropriate box for any period that you are available to host. Rev. Robbie Ytterberg WE RESPOND TO GOD S WORD *THE PRAYER OF COMMITMENT *THE AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (The Nicene Creed) We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father, through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. 11
