At this age not all children will participate, but most will want to be part of the fun. 9:00 & 11:30 Fly Made to Move: An activity that uses a preschooler s natural desire to move to help them learn What You Need: Coffee filters angel wings, and completed sample craft What You Do: During the Activity: Encourage the children to hold the angel wings and fly them around the room. Repeat several times. What You Say: Before the Activity: Let s fly! During the Activity: We are going to hear an awesome Truth from the Bible today about an angel. Let s pretend these are angel wings and fly them around the room. (Do activity.) Great job! After the Activity: That was awesome! I am so excited to find out what the angel did in our Bible Truth today. Transition: Move to Bible area by flapping your arms like you are flying as you move to the Bible time area 2

10:15 Messages Made to Play: An activity that encourages preschoolers to follow guidelines while having fun and learning new concepts What You Need: Five envelopes, five index cards, a pen, and wall tape What You Do: During the Activity: Guide the children to stand in front on the envelopes. Explain that there are messages inside the envelopes. Pull one card from an envelope and read it to the children. Encourage the children to do what the message says. Repeat the activity until all of the messages have been read. (Repeat as long as there is interest.) What You Say: Before the Activity: Look! We have messages! (Point to wall.) During the Activity: Let s read the messages and see what they say. (Pull out first card.) The first message says to [give a friend a hug]. Can you do what the message says to do? (Pause.) Great job! Let s read another message! (Continue and finish activity.) After the Activity: Awesome work! It was so much fun to find out what our messages said. Our Bible Truth today is about an angel who had a VERY special message. Are you ready to hear a TRUTH from the Bible? Transition: Move to Bible time by telling the children that you will give them messages to tell them where to go for Bible time. Give them concise directions to the Bible time area, such as: walk straight, turn here, go to red wall, etc. 3

It s so great to see you today. I am SO EXCITED that we get to celebrate Christmas this month. Christmas is when we celebrate Jesus birthday. [Bottom Line] Jesus is God s Son, and that makes Him so special. When I ask you, Why is Jesus special? I want you to say, [Bottom Line] Jesus is God s Son. Yes! Let s learn our new song together. It s all about celebrating Christmas. (Play Christmas Party from the provided CD) You are such amazing singers! Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year. I just love celebrating Jesus. Now tell me: Why is Jesus special? [Bottom Line] Jesus is God s Son. Story: Communicating God s Truth in Engaging Ways Engage kids hearts through a dynamic and interactive Bible story and prayer experience. What You Need: A Bible LEADER: It s Bible time! I want (name each child if you can) to come sit with me. This is the... (pause as you hold up the Bible)... Bible! The Bible has God s words in it. We love the Bible! (Give the Bible a hug and lay it open in front of the children.) Today s Bible Truth is about a girl named Mary. Can you say, Mary? CHILDREN and LEADER: Mary. LEADER: One day, an angel came to see Mary. He had something very special to tell Mary. The angel said, Mary, you are going to have a very special baby. His name will be Jesus. He will be special because [Bottom line] Jesus is God s Son! 4

At first, Mary was afraid of the angel. Let s pretend we are afraid and cover our eyes like this. (Cover your eyes and pretend to be afraid.) But then Mary wasn t afraid anymore. She was happy. Show me your happy faces. (Smile really big at the children.) Mary was going to have a baby, and it would be God s Son. Jesus is special because [Bottom Line] Jesus is God s Son. When I ask you, Why is Jesus special? I want you to say, [Bottom Line] Jesus is God s Son. Let s try it. Why is Jesus special? CHILDREN and LEADER: [Bottom Line] Jesus is God s Son! LEADER: That s right! [Bottom Line] Jesus is God s Son! (Point to each child as you say you. ) God loves you and you and you and you... SO much that He gave us Jesus to be our friend forever. Did you hear that? [Basic Truth] Jesus wants to be YOUR friend forever! And that is why we celebrate Christmas. Christmas is all about Jesus birthday! Okay, now it s time to close our eyes and put our hands in our lap so we can talk to God. PRAYER LEADER: Dear God, thank You for loving us SO much that You gave us Jesus to be our friend forever. I pray (name each child) will grow up to believe how much You love them. We love You, God. In Jesus name, amen. 5

Birthday Bash Invite Live for God Application Activity Made to Create: An activity that allows preschoolers to review the Bible story, Bottom Line, or memory verse by creating a craft What You Need: Bash Invite Activity Page, three different colors of dot markers, and wet wipes What You Do: During the Activity: Give each child an Activity Page. Encourage the children to use the dot markers to color the other balloons with the remaining separate colors of ink. After the Activity: Wipe messy fingers with the wet wipes. What You Say: Before the Activity: We are going to make an invitation that you can give your friends to invite them to our BIRTHDAY BASH! During the Activity: (Give each child the invite,) Our balloons need color. Dot one color at a time. You will have three balloons, each a different color. (Demonstrate. Then do activity.) After the Activity: Nice job! Now we have a BEAUTIFUL invitation to give to our friends to come and learn all about how God sent us Jesus. Why is Jesus special? [Bottom Line] Jesus is God s Son! 7

Puppet Retell Talk About God Bible Story Review Made to Create: An activity that allows preschoolers to review the Bible story, Bottom Line, or memory verse by creating a craft What You Need: Cones and Sticks Activity Pages, two cones, clear tape, glue sticks, craft sticks (two per child), and completed sample craft What You Do: During the Activity: Use the cone puppets to retell the Bible Truth. After you retell the Bible Truth, give each child the two pictures from the Sticks Activity Page and two craft sticks. Help the children glue one picture to the top of each craft stick. After the Activity: Send the craft stick puppets home with each child. What You Say: Before the Activity: We heard an amazing Bible Truth today! During the Activity: (Use puppets to act out story.) An angel came to tell Mary a wonderful message. The angel told Mary that she was going to have a very special baby. Her baby would be God s SON! WOW! After the Activity: God gave us Jesus! He loves us SO much! Why is Jesus special? [Bottom Line] Jesus is God s Son! Playground/Centers (9:40, 10:55, 12:10) If the weather allows, use this time to travel outside for 10 minutes of playtime.
