So, if he didn t know karate and couldn t sing like an opera star, just what made this baby so special? (Open up Bible.) Our TRUE story begins with a young woman named Mary. A big bright angel appeared to Mary. Mary was so afraid! Show me your afraid faces! (Make an afraid face.) Wow! You guys look really afraid. The angel said to Mary, Don t be afraid. God loves you. And you are going to have a very special baby. You will call him Jesus and he is... drumroll on your legs, everyone; go ahead drumroll like this! (Pat your legs.) He is God s Son! WOW. That s why the baby is special. He s Jesus, God s son! And we celebrate His birthday on Christmas because He is God s special gift to us. And when Mary heard this, she said to the angel, I love God, and I will do whatever he says. And from then on, Mary counted down the days to Christmas too. She was waiting for the day the special baby would be born. Why is Jesus special? [Bottom Line] Jesus is God s Son. Say it with me.
