Edition 01 June 25, 2017 One of our goals is to communicate well with the congrega on. We plan to highlight several of our leaders over the coming months. In this first edi on, we want to introduce you to four individuals who are helping us out during this period of me. Ernst Janzen You need to ask? Mate! Listening to music. (Psalm 73:23-26) Role at King Road: Ernst and Ike are both retired pastors, and they have graciously agreed to assist with preaching and pastoral care during these next few months. Edition 02 Cold Terere! Reading, walking and spending time with family and friends. July 9, 2017 What is your favourite summer activity? Hiking and swimming. Here is the second edition of our Faces of King Road Church series. How well do you know your church leaders? We hope the information will help put a face to a name. And who knows? You ll likely learn something new! Fair trade coffee, freshly ground and French pressed at home. Reading Mostly biographies of interesting historical figures. What is your favourite summer activity? Camping and travelling. Herman Stahl I have a private practice as a Child Therapist/Counsellor, working with children and their families who need social and emotional support. Oh and for fun I buy, renovate and sell the occasional apartment unit. I work for West Alder Farms as an egg collector. Valesca Bergen Meaningful Verse: Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. (Deuteronomy 31:6) Role at King Road: The secretary/assistant secretary require attention to detail and typing abilities (sorry, we don t hand-write minutes any longer!). They are responsible to record minutes of church council and membership meetings and ensure they are kept as part of our church records. Their work is an important part of the story of King Road Church. Mate. Meaningful Verse: For I know the plans I have for you plans to give you hope and a future. (Jeremiah 29:11) Going to thrift stores and baking. Role at King Road: The moderator/assistant moderator are in charge of leading our leadership committees (council and pastoral committee) and membership meetings. They work closely together with the pastoral team in terms of planning agendas and setting direction. Please approach them with any questions or concerns about King Road Church.
