The Bishop will also be visiting for our classes on February 17 and 24th. We will be celebrating our 2nd Annual Epiphany Pageant on Saturday, January 5th at our 5 pm service. Thank you to Sharon Henes for overseeing this fun tradition for Good Shepherd. Everyone can get involved and there will be refreshments immediately after the pageant. We encourage all members to take part in the Bible Challenge 2013. Episcopalians from all over the world will be participating in this challenging but fun year of daily bible verse readings. And in just one year, you will have read the entire bible cover to cover! Get started today the January bible verses are listed on page 4 of this newsletter. It will be held at Zion Oconomowoc from 9 am to 3 pm. See Father Mike for more information. The Living Nativity scene that we held outside in front of our church was a big success. Everyone had a lot of fun and enjoyed seeing live Mary and Joseph and others as well as petting and feeding all of the live sheep and goats. Thank you to everyone who pitched in to make this event a success. Due to all of the Christmas services, there will not be a 6:30 pm service on Wednesday, December 26th. Our Wednesday liturgy will resume on January 2nd. We will be hosting the 2nd Annual Valentine s Day Dance and Dinner on February 2nd. Please see Father Mike to sign up or to volunteer. We had an amazing turnout in 2012 and want to grow this event in 2013. We wish everyone a Happy and Blessed Holidays! We hope everyone has an opportunity to spend some time with those they hold dear.

Happy New year Good Shepherd, New Year, new opportunities, new challenges, and for sure a year of abundant grace. May 2013 bring you many blessings, many opportunities to grow and tons of Joy. I am so grateful for all the effort that went into our successful year in 2012. As we end the year, I collected a list of things I am grateful for. Here is part of the list I am grateful to have an opportunity to serve God doing what I love to do. I am grateful for a wonderful wife and kids I am grateful for a wonderful and faithful congregation I am grateful to be in a church where laughter comes easy and pitching in is a way of life I am grateful for God s abundance and your generosity year in and year out. I am grateful for the support and confidence the diocese has given and for the support they continue to give. I am grateful to be in Sun Prairie and be part of a dynamic community. I am grateful for good schools. I am grateful for every day I get to grow closer to God and be helpful to God s Kingdom. I am very grateful to have another year with you Good Shepherd I believe 2013 will be a year to blow our socks off. Have a blessed New Year, Father Mike YOUTH EVENTS PLANNED We have a couple of events planned for the youth of our church in the coming months: Sunday, December 30, there will be at Lock-In at GSEC. The Lazer tag event (that was originally scheduled for November 26th) has been changed to December 30th to make one big fun night out of both. Mark your calendars for Saturday, January 26 when we will be hosting an event for all GSEC youth (and their friends) from 6 8 pm. We can t tell you what this event will be just yet, but watch for more information soon. I can tell you from my own kids experience that these events are a lot of fun, and give our kids a chance to get to know each other better outside of their usual classes and mentoring. I encourage all youth of the church to get involved and have some fun.
