The individual pays 1/3; Trinity mission funds pay 1/3 and 1/3 is fundraised by the group. To sign up for the team, contact Rev. Nan (nan@trinitylincoln.org) or Janelle Lamb (nellielamb1@gmail.com) Reserve your spot-$50 down. Trinity Security For a long time the church has been considered a sanctuary from the violence of the larger world. However, church shootings have opened our eyes to the extra effort that kind of security takes. The Trinity Board of Trustees have been educating themselves on risk management for our church, and developing a comprehensive safety plan. They are ready to begin implementing the plan this summer. Here are highlights for your awareness: ENTRANCES & EXITS: All building entrances will be visibly numbered. In an emergency, these numbers will help you identify the entrance for emergency personnel to use. = The SW entrance on Kentwell is not visible from inside the building, allowing someone to slip into the building unnoticed. It will remain locked from the outside and serve as an exit only. LOWER LEVEL Since the choir room exits into the children s area, the main choir room door will be closed and locked when not in use. Entrance to the youth room and children s area is limited to the lower level lobby. Beginning in mid-august, the Children s Area entrance will be locked at all times. The door will be open with a greeter when children arrive for Sunday School and at the close of worship. When parents sign in their children they may take an access card and returning it when they pick up their child. The ushers will have an access card for parents during the 10:30 service if a parent wants the child to go to the nursery. COMMUNICATION Alarm buttons that silently signal the security company will be added to the childcare, church office, and Spirit Hall. Walkie Talkies will provide emergency communication between the children s area and the office during the week; and between the children s area and Spirit Hall on Sundays. A SECURITY TRAINING EVENT is planned for Ushers, Greeters, and anyone else who would like to know more about how to handle an emergency situation at Trinity will be held: Sunday, August 12 @ 3:00pm.
