One: Help us be willing to bow before you in true repentance and to bow to one another in real forgiveness. Many: By the fire of your Holy Spirit, melt our hard hearts and consume the prejudice and pride that separates us. One: Fill us oh Lord, with Your perfect love that casts out fear Many: and bind us together in the unity that you share with the Father and the Holy Spirit. All: Lord hear our prayer Assurance of Pardon *Affirmation of Faith (from the confession of Belhar) We believe in God-the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who gathers, protects and cares for the church. We believe the church is one worldwide communion of saints, called from the entire human family. We believe the church is the single community of believers, reconciled with God and with one another. We believe that through the working of God s Spirit, unity is a binding force and also that we must seek this unity, which must become visible to the world. We believe that the sin of division, separation and hatred between people and groups has been conquered by Christ. We commit ourselves to protecting the unity of the church universal. We pledge to make this unity active in all of our words, thoughts and deeds. Prayers of the People Offering *Doxology Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen. Prayer of Dedication Benediction Postlude ϯ Kay Howell Children s Message Anthem: The Lighthouse LPC Choir Words and music by Ronnie Hinson; Arranged by Russell Mauldin And I thank God for the Lighthouse! I owe my life to Him. For Jesus is the Lighthouse, and from the rocks of sin He has shone a light around me, that I could clearly see.

WELCOME TODAY: Today we welcome, back to our pulpit. Ardy recently completed her seminary work with Union Seminary of Charlotte and is ready to be ordained into ministry. Ardy will be with us for most of February except next Sunday. She plans a theme of Love and Faith for the month. Thanks so much for sharing your love of Christ with us! UPCOMING SUPPLY: Next Sunday, Rev. Meg Shaw Skidmore will be with us and will be sharing a message from Luke 6: 17-26, With Blessings Like These Ardy will be back on the 24 th. MUSIC NOTES: Today we ll sing two songs from the small Sing the Faith book. We ll open with They ll Know We Are Christians. This song was written by a Catholic priest in the mid-1960s and reminds us why we are Christians. The second song, Change My Heart, O God, invites us to accept Christ into our lives and change us. Just like Jesus invited the disciples who were fishing on the sea of Galilee. HABITAT HOME UPDATES: Questions- See Jane, Chris or Michael. Continue to look for opportunities to help out. Thanks to Michael, Jane and Chris for helping coordinate our part in this great ministry! Completion is very close! FOOD DONATIONS: Thanks for bringing food in last week to support West Stanly Christian Ministries. We donated 85 pounds of food for Souper Bowl Sunday. This was collected by Boy Scout Troop 202 and added to their Scouting for Food collection. With the Scouts, 386 pounds of food was sent to West Stanly Christian Ministries. DIVORCE CARE MINISTRY: The 13week sessions began on Tuesday, Feb 5 at 7:00pm and conclude on May 7. Questions see Amy or Michael.
