We are gifted to build bonds among ourselves and others in order to live the Gospel in word, worship, community and service for the salvation of all and the building of God s kingdom. Saturday 4:00 PM Sunday 8:30 AM 11:00 AM Weekdays Please check for schedule in bulletin Sacrament of Reconciliation Saturday 3:00 to 3:50 PM or by appointment Religious Education Grades K 8 Sunday 9:45 AM 10:45 AM Luke's Gospel has been loaded with surprises: the poor are rich, sinners find salvation, the Kingdom of God is found in our midst. Today we see the greatest surprise of all. We are confronted with the crucified Jesus, whom faith tells us is King and Savior of all. The irony is that the inscription placed on the cross, perhaps in mockery, contains the profoundest of truth. As the leaders jeer, the thief crucified by his side recognizes Jesus as Messiah and King, and finds salvation.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults: Adult preparation for the Sacrament of Initiation. If you know of anyone who might be interested in inquiring about the Catholic Faith, call the parish office or Maureen Dillon at (570) 779-9874. Classes are generally held on Sunday mornings after the 8:30 AM Mass. Baptism of Infants: Parents requesting Baptism for their children should make an appointment with the Pastor to begin the process. The months of preparation before the birth of a child are the appropriate time to plan for the Sacrament. Catholic Marriage: Diocesan Policy states that those considering celebrating the Sacrament of Marriage must meet with the pastor at least six months before any desired wedding date. Please call the office to schedule an appointment with the Pastor. Communion for the Homebound: We invite homebound parishioners who wish to receive Holy Communion to call the office. Hospital Visitation: Please notify the Parish Office if you or a loved one is hospitalized as the hospital no longer notifies the parish. If a patient would like to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation or Anointing of the Sick or if he or she would just like a visit, please call the office to make arrangements. Prayer for Life Father and maker of all, you adorn all creation with splendor and beauty, and fashion human lives in your image and likeness. Awaken in every heart reverence for the work of your hands, and renew among your people a readiness to nurture and sustain your precious gift of life. Grant this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God Forever and ever. Amen. PARISH EVENTS ADVENT Next Sunday we will begin our annual celebration of Advent. The Advent Season is focused on the coming of Jesus. Christian worship, Bible readings, and prayers not only prepare us spiritually for Christmas (his first coming) but also for his eventual second coming. Since Advent looks forward to Christ s birth and Incarnation, it is an appropriate way to begin the Church Year. However, Advent is not part of the Christmas season itself, but a preparation for it. Thus, Catholics do not sing Christmas hymns, or use Christmas readings, in Mass until December 24 th - the vigil Mass for Christmas and 25 th, the first day of the Christmas season. This Advent we will try to enhance our preparation for Christmas by offering the Catholic Catechism study group. Our first study session will take place on Wednesday, November 30 th, at 7 PM, at the rectory building. All are welcomed. Our meeting will consist of watching a DVD presentation followed by discussion/reflection and prayer. Father Jacek PRAYER PARTNERS This weekend, November 19/20, we are asking you to place your name in the basket for a prayer partner. You can put as much information on the Angel Paper s as you would want. If you only want prayers then just put your name on the Angel. If you would like to have more contact with a parishioner then you can put your address, phone number, etc. You will be able to take a name from the basket the following week of November 26/27, the First Sunday of Advent. ADVENT WREATH CANDLE There are sign-up sheets on the ramp area and vestibule of the Church for you to volunteer to light the Advent candle before the masses on the weekends during Advent. Please sign up today. Come and spend some quiet time with Jesus! Opportunities for Adoration are available every Wednesday from 9AM to 4PM; times are broken into one hour shifts. If you are interested please contact Joan Kaye @ 570-779-2998. Because of the dwindling number of people for Adoration we have changed the time.

GIVING A MEMORIAL GIFT TO YOUR PARISH WHEN THERE IS A DEATH OF A LOVED ONE AND MAKING YOUR WILL: Have you ever considered giving a monetary gift to your parish in memory of a deceased loved one at the time of death or later on? It s a beautiful expression of love for both the person who died and your parish. We always need money to enable us to continue to accomplish the mission of Jesus and for the general upkeep of our parish properties. Please consider this unique expression of giving in lieu of flowers, Mass cards and other expressions. When making your Will, remember All Saints Parish & the good that can come because of the legacy you leave your parish. Monetary donations would be gratefully appreciated if made to the Parish Building Fund, The Christian Service Center, Parish Cemeteries or All Saints Catholic School Education Fund, to be used by a family or families who need assistance with sending their child to a Catholic School. Thank you. MINISTRY OF PRAYER Please always remember to pray for those in our nation s military; for firefighters, police and EMT s.
