A Letter from Father... Page 2 September 10, 2017 Fall Combined Collection Is the Catholic Faith Worth Passing On? God has always built a pass along principle into His creation. God never intended that any living thing He created should just be born, live and die. When it come to Evangelism, it s not enough to make converts and teach them the basics of the Faith, we need to make sure that each one we reach can pass on the life of the kingdom to others who can pass it on to others. The Fall Combined Collection strives to make it easier to share our Catholic Faith with others across the diocese, the nations and throughout the world by equipping lay and consecrated Catholics with the tools they need to spread the mission of our Lord and Savior to every corner of the Earth. The Fall Combined Collection will be sent to the following: 1. Church in Latin America: Fund, seminarian and religion formation, religious education in Latin America. 2. The Solidary Fund in Africa: The Solidary Fund for the church in Africa provides training on natural family planning and HIV/AIDS prevention among the youth. 3. Church among Black and Native Americans: Ensures clergy for baptisms, marriages and funerals on our six local Indian reservations and offers Catholic School scholarships. 4. Catholic Home Missions: Enables Catholic parishioners in poor communities to keep their doors open and provide Mass, sacraments and religious education. By supporting the Fall Combined Collection we are saying Yes that our Catholic Faith is worth being passed on. Parish & Community Activities Page 4 September 10, 2017 Knights of Columbus Pancake Breakfast The Knights of Columbus invite you and your family to join them for a hearty Pancake Breakfast in our parish hall this morning from 8:00 AM - 11:30 AM. Donation asked is $7 per person. Council #1638 members are selling presale tickets for their Christopher Columbus- Italian Family Dinner at the pancake breakfast. The Columbus Dinner will be Saturday, October 14th at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church s parish hall. The event will include live music and offer a main entrée of Baked Lasagna made from scratch! Presale discount tickets are $17 each or $20 at the door. Bishop Barnes 25th Anniversary Today there will be a second collection to raise funds for the Bishop celebration that will take place on September 21, 2017 at 7:00 PM at St. Catherine of Alexandria in Riverside. We as a parish would like to thank Bishop Barnes for his untiring service over these 25 years. Volunteers are Needed.
