YOUTH MINISTRY 13. PARENTS ENGAGEMENT SURVEY Dear Parents of Youths and Teenagers, Parenting youths is indeed a fulfilling and yet challenging part of family life! On many occasions, we wished we knew what to do or desired support on this journey. We are a group of parents whose children are in the FORT Youth Ministry. We can identify with and understand this demanding parenting responsibility! Our children, the youths, deserve all our effort in nurturing them because their lives are valuable! We are currently exploring how to offer support to fellow AMKMC parents. As a church, we recognise that today s youths face many grey and complex areas in their growing up years. As parents in a community of faith, we need to support each other as we navigate through life with our youths! As a start, we would like to discover your needs and concerns as parents. CHRISTIAN OUTREACH & SOCIAL CONCERNS (COSC) MINISTRY 14. RECRUITMENT FOR VOLUNTEER TUTORS & COORDINATORS FOR TUITION PROGRAM 2019 The Christian Outreach and Social Concerns (COSC) Ministry is thankful for the volunteer tutors who have responded to the call to provide free academic coaching for students in the Pre-School, Primary and Secondary levels in 2018. The COSC plans to continue building a sustainable Tuition Program in 2019 in these areas: a) A Language & Literacy program targeted at Pre-School children b) An Academic Coaching program for Primary School students focusing on Math and English c) An Academic Coaching program for Secondary School students focusing on Math and English d) A self-sustaining volunteer-run tuition program. We appeal for volunteers to come forward to partner with us and support these needy students within our Ang Mo Kio community. The program schedule is as follows: Pre-School and Primary Level sessions will be held on Saturdays from 10.00am to 12.00pm, starting from 12 Jan 2019. Secondary Level Sessions will be on either Wednesdays or Thursdays from 8.00pm to 9.30pm, starting from 16 Jan 2019. Sessions will be held at our church premises during school terms. Volunteer tutors will need to commit to serve in any of the following, for at least 6 months: Teaching of Language and Reading, or Teaching of English or Math - Primary level or Teaching of English or Math - Secondary level or In addition, we are also appealing for coordinators who will assist us in the following: Performing logistic and administrative tasks to support the tuition program Youths who have just completed their A-levels and Polytechnic education are welcome to serve.
