Although the winter season is not over as of yet, we do thank Him for allowing us to experience a relatively mild winter. Special thanks to the Kings Daughters and the Mighty Men Ministry for hosting a blessed breakfast during the month of February and to Minister Edloe for proclaiming God s Word. On Wednesday, March 14 th, we will present a Special Bible Study Session whereby we will cover many of the Biblical Truths embedded the movie Black Panther. Furthermore we will host the Bible Study Session with the Senior Saints Ministry on Thursday, March 15 th for those who did not attend the previous night. All who can are encouraged to view the movie before these dates. Journal your thoughts so the Bible Study can be interactive. We will host a Marriage Ministry Workshop on Saturday, March 24 th. All married couples are encouraged to make time to attend. Furthermore we encourage all to continue to celebrate and cherish their union of marriage. Bible Study will be in recess Wednesday, March 28 th ; however, please plan to attend our special Maundy Thursday Worship Service, Thursday, March 29 th @ 7pm (Praise/Worship @ 6:45pm). We are grateful to have Pastor Shelwood Claude and Bethany Baptist Church worshipping with us on that night. Choose to believe in miracles. We serve a God of Miracles. A Miracle is the supernatural intervention of God in the problems of your life. By believing in the Power of God, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain. At some point in your life, you will either be forced to live in the potential of your faith, or with the consequences of your doubt. CHURCH SCHOOL THE MONTH OF MARCH GOD IS You Are Probably Known By Different Names Those names reflect both your character and your relationships with people. For example, people who know me professionally call me Dr. Hemphill, yet others who know me personally call me Ken. My children call me Daddy and my grandkids call me Papa. The names of God revealed in Scripture tell us about His character. Those names invite us to know Him in a growing, intimate relationship. Knowing these names is important for three reasons. 1. God s name is inherently great. O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! (Ps. 8:1). Understanding God s names will enable us to praise and worship Him more effectively. 2. God s name protects and benefits us. The name of the Lord is a strong tower (Prov. 18:10). The various names become a tremendous aid to effective and specific prayer. 3. We represent God s name and must bring honor to it. God gave Ten Commandments and one of those Commandments has to do with His name: Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain (Ex. 20:7). This command means far more than avoiding its use in vulgar or slang expressions. It means the people of God must reflect His name or character in their lives. The names of God are a love gift to us. God reveals Himself fully so that we might experience His fullness. As we look at six of those names, we will discover truths about the lovely character of our God.
