A Lenten Journey to Easter at the Church of St. Adalbert RECONCILIATION SERVICE Monday, March 5 at 6:30 P.M. Confessions will be heard in English and Polish STATIONS OF THE CROSS Fridays during Lent February 16 to March 25 at 6:30 P.M. March 16 The Passion, a video featuring Doug Barry of RADIX and music by Eric Genuis, will be shown in place of the traditional Stations of the Cross. During the 40 days of Lent, as companions on the journey, we will encounter our neighbor. Pick up your family's CRS Rice Bowl in the gathering area in church. Birthright has a need for items (including diapers) for baby layettes from newborn to 18-months. SCHENECTADY INNER CITY MINISTRIES is a cooperative venture of over a dozen faith communities and has been serving the needs of our community through numerous projects such as the SICM Food Pantry for almost 50 years. The Church of St. Adalbert has been a part of this effort from the beginning. We need a couple of volunteers to serve attend the monthly S.I.C.M. Assembly meeting as representatives of our parish. Call Ron Severson at 518-355-3968 for more information. The Works of Mercy Initiative, which is a cooperative venture of the Roman Catholic parishes in Schenectady is making personal care kits. They will provide the kits to our parishes who serve those in need. Our parish will be collecting items during Lent to assist with this project. We are asking for your help! Since the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year, we have served almost 300 local children, providing them with clothing care packages to help them feel comfortable, confident, and ready to learn. We have also given out 73 pairs of sneakers or boots and 86 winter jackets. WE NEED YOUR HELP! We have urgent inventory needs for the following sizes: Boys size 7-14 jeans/pants, long and short sleeve shirts, and hooded sweatshirts. Spring is around the corner so please remember us when you are transitioning closets or if you see great clearance sales. We always happily accept clean, gently-used and new clothing in all children, teen, and adult sizes. Remember adult clothing should be basic styles that teens may wear.
