From the desk of Bishop Reginald S. Hinton, Sr. Notes Grace and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. It is always a privilege and a delight to greet my brothers and sisters as we prepare for another exciting encounter orchestrated by our glorious God that we know as the Mid- Year Session. God continues to express His unwavering love towards us in a multitude of ways and we appreciate the privilege of fellowship with the saints. Our theme for this session is Anchored for Action that has as its biblical foundation 1 Corinthians 15:58. At the conclusion of his masterful exposition of the resurrection, the Apostle Paul encourages his fellow believers to be firmly entrenched in their faith and power of the resurrection and all of its implications. In spite of the many obstacles and tests that we encounter in life, we can remain resolute in our firm conviction that God is still in control of everything that happens. With an unshakable faith, we are positioned to engage in the work that has been assigned to our hands. We must not become weary in well-doing. We have a promise that we will reap if we do not lose heart. I am convinced that when the benediction is given on Saturday evening, God s people will be sufficiently encouraged that we will leave this spiritual oasis reinvigorated for the work that is set before us. God will use every song, scripture, prayer, presentation and proclamation to strengthen each of us for the days ahead. Come with a high level of expectation that God would do exceeding abundantly above all that we could ever ask or think in imparting to us the blessings that He has in store. Continue to pray for one another, your pastor, local church family as well as the conference family as a whole. I solicit your prayers for the Executive Board as we lead another session with God s people. The Lord bless you and keep you in His care. Bishop Reginald S. Hinton, Sr. Presiding Prelate

Notes From the desk of Bishop Frederick E. Clarida, Sr. Greetings to All My Father s Children, I pray that since we last met at annual conference you have been enjoying the blessings of the Lord. We are excited about our mid-year session in Ellerbe, as we look forward to seeing each of our brothers and sisters. Our theme for the session is Anchored For Action. Whether we acknowledge it or not, the core of the Christian values and moral beliefs are under attack. Ungodly living is being paraded as it ought to be the norm suggesting that there is nothing wrong with it. On the surface the church seems to have lost its influence in the midst of a corrupt world; but I believe that this is the time that we ought to allow our light to shine even the brighter. This is a time of action for the Christian. We must not only talk the talk, but we must walk the walk. We cannot allow the attacks of the enemy to distract us, but we must remain true to our calling and our purpose. We must continue to be strong in our faith, knowing that the same God that raised Jesus from the dead is the One who also strengthens us during our times of adversity and weakness. The best testimony of our faith in Christ is a life lived in commitment and obedience to Him. I know the journey has been long and the task has been continuous, but let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not. God bless you as we seek His blessings for this mid-year session. In His Service, Bishop Frederick E. Clarida, Sr. Vice President

THE ORIGINAL CAPE FEAR AND SOUTHWESTERN FREE WILL BAPTIST ANNUAL CONFERENCE VISION We are a Christian conference sharing fundamental beliefs with a focus on maximizing our collective impact in the world for the Kingdom of God. MISSION It is our mission to: Support member churches in advancing the cause of Christ Promote adherence to the sound biblical beliefs of Original Free Will Baptists Train, license and ordain ministers within our conference Assist member churches in leadership development Support vibrant Christian fellowship Utilize our collective strengths for the Kingdom of God Affirmation of Faith We believe that God is the Father Almighty and that He is maker of Heaven and earth as the Scriptures have said. We believe in Jesus, that He is the Christ and is the only begotten Son of the Father. He is the way, the truth, and the life. He was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. On the third day, He rose from the dead and declared victory over the grave, death, and hell. He has gone back to the Father to prepare a place for us in His Kingdom. He will come back as He promised to judge the world and to deliver the righteous. We believe in the Holy Ghost, the Christian Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and eternal life for all true believers.
