Some topic examples could include setting up a Facebook account to communicate with your family and friends, organizing your picture files, and much more! ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM) This year s AGM is on Wednesday, June 7 at 10:00am. This is your opportunity to receive information and ask questions about the upcoming year. Come and meet our new president Agatha Rohs and say farewell to past president, Dan Graham. Join us for a light breakfast of coffee and muffins. Please sign up at the office so we know you re coming. There is no cost to attend. Join us on Friday, June 9 at 11:30am for a our last event of the year a potluck barbecue. will provide all beef hotdogs and members are invited to bring their specialty dishes to share with the group. The group meets Wednesday mornings at 10:00am upstairs at the Centre. Please sign up at the office.

Movie Cost: $2.00 or 1 punch each Denzel Washington directed and stars in this adaptation of August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, which centers on a black garbage collector named Troy Maxson in 1950s Pittsburgh. Bitter that baseball's color barrier was only broken after his own heyday in the Negro Leagues, Maxson is prone to taking out his frustrations on his loved ones. Both Washington and co-star Viola Davis won Tonys for their performances in the 2010 revival of the play. Stephen Henderson, Jovan Adepo, Russell Hornsby, and Mykelti Williamson round out the supporting cast. A big thank you to all of our Easter Tea and Bake Sale volunteers who shopped, baked, set-up and sold at the sale. It was one of out most successful spring bake sales with a total of $903.76 raised!

Restorative Yoga (9 Weeks) Tuesdays,, June 20 August 15 Restorative Yoga is a series of non-weight bearing poses designed to make you feel great during, and after class. The sequence is slow -- each pose is held between one and two minutes. Students who like this class say it compliments their active lifestyle. Basic ballet moves, fitness training, core conditioning, yoga into one class! Tone and shape your body with this fun and exciting workout, try out the newest fitness craze! Great music and moves! Instructor: Kirstin Cost: $54 for members/ $74 for non-members Circuit/ Weight Training (9 Weeks) Thursdays,, June 22 August 17 This is an exercise program that will focus on improving your strength, endurance, balance and coordination. Each participant will move from station to station to focus on different exercises. You have a choice of logging your progress or just have fun doing the exercises. Instructor: Raul Cost: $54 for members/ $74 for non-members Please note: Due to high cost and consumption rate, we are asking that those participating in fitness bring their own exercise bands to class. Please Note: Advance registration is required for all programs, including presentations, workshops and special events. Some programs will sell out, while other are cancelled due to low registration. While we understand that it is hard to plan far in advance, please try to register early to avoid disappointment when programs and events are cancelled. Please be aware, the spots in fitness classes are non-transferable. This means that only one person is allowed to occupy a class spot (two people cannot share) and you cannot join in another class if you cannot make it to the class you registered for. The Charleswood 55+ Active Living Centre reserves the right to change or cancel any programs or events due to lack of registration of unforeseen circumstances. Refunds will only be given under special circumstances unless the program is cancelled by the Centre.
