Funds from this collection support pastoral care, catechesis, building renovations, and seminary formation. Your support restores the Church and builds the future in this region. Please prayerfully consider how you can support the collection this week. On Good Friday there is a special collection the Holy Land which is a collection for support of the Holy Places, but above all for those pastoral, charitable, educational and social works which the Church supports in the Holy Land for the welfare of their Christian brethren and of the local communities. While virtually all religions seek to find God, we believe that God has already found us! We believe this because Jesus tells us so: It was not you who chose me, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit that will remain. (John 15.16). So how do we bear spiritual fruit that will remain as Jesus commanded? A most effective way is to invite home the many baptized Catholics we see every day who are not attending Mass and going to Confession regularly. In our secular world plagued by rampant misinformation, tell them the Gospel truth we recall this Lent: Christ suffered and died for us to save us from our sins and bring us to eternal life (John 6.54). Invite them to join you at Mass and Stations of the Cross. Invite them also to Catholics Returning Home starting right after Easter. All inactive Catholics are welcome at these six weekly sessions to get a fresh start in parish life and find answers to their questions. The sessions are free, informal and there is never any pressure to participate further. We start Thursday April 5th at 7 PM in the St. Ignatius Adult Study Room.
