On the occasion of National Conservation Day on September 23, 2018, Nepal announced that there are now an estimated 235 wild tigers in the country. This estimate is nearly double the baseline of around 121 tigers in 2009. If these trends continue, Nepal could become the first country to double its national tiger population since the ambitious TX2 goal was set at the St. Petersburg Tiger Summit in 2010. The TX2 goal seeks to double the world s wild tiger population by 2022. The total number of wild tigers in India has risen to 3,890 in 2016 according to World Wildlife Fund and Global Tiger Forum.

India Ballistic Missile Defence (BMD) system has two layer. Prithivi Air Defence: For exogenic atmosphere (50-80 km) Advance Air Defence: For endogenic atmosphere (15-30 km) 1 st phase: Developing shield up to 2000-km missiles. 2 nd Phase: Longer range radars (detection range of 1500 kms as opposed to 600-km in phase-1) and hypersonic interceptor missiles flying at Mach 6-7.

RRBs were formed under the RRB Act, 1976, with an objective to provide credit and other facilities to small farmers, agricultural labourers and artisans in rural areas. Currently, the Centre holds 50 per cent in RRBs, while 35 per cent and 15 per cent are with the concerned sponsor banks and state governments. The consolidation process started in 2005 in phased manner. RRBs Amendment Act, 2015 RRBs permitted to raise capital from sources other than the Centre, states and sponsor banks. Even after stake dilution, the shareholding of the Centre and the sponsor public sector banks together cannot fall below 51 per cent. The first regional rural bank was 'Prathama Bank' that was established on 2nd October, 1975 in Moradabad, UP. It was sponsored by Syndicate Bank.
