S E P T E M B E R 2010 THE GREAT COMMAND You shall love e Lord your God wi all your heart and wi all your soul and wi all your mind. This is e great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. (Matew 22:37-39) Jesus said it, I believe it; now let s do it. Now how do we love God? I believe at to accomplish is we must spend quiet time wi e heavenly Faer. The Holy Spirit must be invited to minister to us and rough us; speaking God s word to our minds and souls. As we grow in is quiet time, God can make ose necessary changes in us allowing us to be who God wants us to be. Wiin is relationship God gives us His peace, enabling us to go into e world carrying out e love of God. But how do we love oers as we love ourselves? Creating a loving relationship comes rough e heavenly Faer, in e name of Jesus and by e power of e Holy Spirit. The quiet time we spend wi God allows us to know who we are, and to extend e love we receive to ose around us. The more time we spend loving God, e more we are able to love oers. Jesus gave us a command, not a request. Let s obey is command and allow God to use us for His glory. Amen and amen! May God bless, Deacon Bill P.S. Romans 13:10b: erefore love is e fulfilling of e law.

The OSL Corner by Sharon Parker Job 21:15: Who is e Almighty at we should serve Him? What would we gain by praying to Him? I realize at is chapter in Job is saying ese are e words of evil men, but it is someing we should all ask ourselves, isn t it? Who is e Almighty? He is e Lord who created all ings, including us, and has our lives and our futures in His mighty, loving and merciful hands. He is e One who gives us life, fai and hope; He is abounding in love and forgives all our wickedness and sin. He is our God; a very good God and our Redeemer. What would we gain by praying to Him? Everying! We gain wisdom when we ask for it. We gain love, forgiveness (not only for our own sins, but we learn to forgive oers). We gain patience, understanding and direction for our lives. We gain healing, salvation and oer miracles. We gain friendship and a deeper knowledge of our Lord and Savior. So we get on our knees, or in a special place, or on our faces on e floor and we pray and come away knowing Yahweh has heard us, and He is in e process of answering.
