Excel in Giving SCRIPTURE 2 Corinthians 8: 1-7 (NKJV) 8 Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia: 2 that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded in the riches of their liberality. 3 For I bear witness that according to their ability, yes, and beyond their ability, they were freely willing, 4 imploring us with much urgency that we would receive [a] the gift and the fellowship of the ministering to the saints. 5 And not only as we had hoped, but they first gave themselves to the Lord, and then to us by the will of God. 6 So we urged Titus, that as he had begun, so he would also complete this 7 grace in you as well. But as you abound in everything in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all diligence, and in your love for us see that you abound in this grace also. 4
RESPONSIVE READING Psalm 96: 1-8 (NKJV) LEADER: Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! Sing to the Lord, all the earth. Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day. CONG: Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples. For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods. LEADER: For all the gods of the peoples are idols, But the Lord made the heavens. Honor and majesty are before Him; Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary. ALL: Give to the Lord, O families of the peoples, Give to the Lord glory and strength. Give to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come into His courts. 5
WALK WITH ME Chorus I want Jesus to walk with me, I want Jesus to walk with me; All along my pilgrim journey, I want Jesus to walk with me. 1. In my sorrows, walk with me, In my sorrows, walk with me, When my heart within is aching, Lord, I want Jesus to walk with me. 3. In my troubles, walk with me, In my troubles, walk with me, When my life becomes a burden, Lord, I want Jesus to walk with me. 6
The tenth shall be holy unto the Lord. Leviticus 27:32 Every Christian should strive to learn how to be a cheerful giver. When we give what does it actually mean? It simply means we, cheerfully give to God our tithes and offerings. Tithing honors God. Are you giving the Lord His tithes or your tips? The word tithe means to give back to God one tenth of your earnings for the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel throughout the world.
