Winning With Money LEADER S GUIDE 4th- Lesson Overview Today we re talking about how to win with our money. Now, most of us think money is all about buying stuff for ourselves. You know, we see a commercial or a friend with a cool toy or video game, and then we start saving our money to buy it for ourselves. But, that s not how God wants us to view our money. In fact, Jesus had a lot to say about money in the Bible. He warns us not to let money control us and turn us into greedy people. He wants us to use our money to help others by being generous. Instead of just spending on ourselves, he wants us to share our money with others. That includes giving at church. So, if we want to win with our money, we need to think less about how we want to spend it on ourselves and more about how we can bless others with it. Big Idea Don t be greedy with your money. Key Question Why is greed a bad thing? Memory Verse Luke 1:34 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be. Classroom Agenda 1. We re always looking to buy the next cool thing. So, that means we re not grateful or thankful for the things we already have. God doesn t want us to be this way. He wants us to use our money to help others, not just to buy more stuff for ourselves.) Bonus Questions: Why is greed a bad thing? What does God want us to do with our money? 4-: How have you been greedy? What can you do to change that? 7. (5 min) EXPLORE: Read Matthew 6:4. How can money get in the way of our relationship with God? Why can t you love both God and money? (Answer: This verse is warning us about being greedy and focusing on the wrong thing. We need to remember that God gives us everything we have, even our money. So, instead of only thinking of ourselves, we need to ask God how he wants us to spend HIS money..and, we should never love stuff more than we love God and other people.) 8.
