DAILY PRAYER GUIDE BASED ON THE SEVEN MOUNTAINS OF INFLUENCE (Dick Eastman, 2012) You are encouraged to use the following in your daily intercession. As you are led by the Holy Spirit, pray specifically for our church, other churches, our nation and nations of the world. 1 RELIGION (The Church and her ministries) Pray for the Holy Spirit s anointing on all churches regardless of their denominations. Pray for ministries involved in evangelism and discipleship including foreign missionary activity. Pray for God to send the right Christian teachers to be mentored to take over the headship in both Methodist Kindergarten Canning Garden and Methodist Girls School Kindergarten. Pray for God to send children to our kindergartens to be nurtured and to open the doors for our Pre-school Ministry and church to reach out to them and help them to come into the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for CGMC s Jubilee Year As the Jubilee Year celebrations have been launched, let us continually uphold all the events and activities planned, Pray for our past CGMC pastors who will be coming to preach, that the Lord will speak to each one of them, so that the word and message will be encouraging and prophetic. Pray for Be A Blessing project, that every cell group, leaders and members will take up a project or two, enthusiastically to bless those who are in needs with the love and grace of God, and in turn, are blessed. 2 FAMILY AND MARRIAGES (Youth, Children, Marriage, etc) Pray for families in general, and particularly for the healing of broken relationships in marriages and families especially among believers and those in Christian ministry. Recently, the government has set up a special criminal court for cases involving sexual crimes against children. Pray that with this court, justice for abused children in our country will be upheld. Scripture Union (SU) celebrated its 55 th Anniversary on 28 May 2017. Pray for SU to reach the Next Generation through Christian Fellowships in schools. Pray for SU to disciple the Next Generation through Going Deep in the Word through Bible Engagement. Pray for cheerful givers to support them in their ministry. 3 EDUCATION (All Schools, Universities, Colleges and Educators) The focus is to pray for all institutions of learning; be they for the very young, as children are so easily influenced, or for those catering for higher education. Pray for teachers and educators. Pray for those whom you know by name.

4 BUSINESS (The Marketplace) This focus involves praying for a spiritual awakening in the marketplace. Pray especially for Christian businessmen and businesswomen that God will use them to influence others in their professions. Pray for major corporations that they will build their companies on a foundation of high moral and ethical standards. The Persatuan Daybreak held its 21 st Annual General Meeting recently. Mr. Siaw Tak Chuan, its long serving Chairman, has stepped down but will remain as a committee member. The Management Committee has nominated Mr. Lee Nyit Kean, supported by the LCEC Canning Garden Methodist Church, to take over as the new Chairman. Pray for the new Chairman, Mr. Lee Nyit Kean, together with the Executive Chairperson, Dato Sandra Ling and the new management committee members to work in unity and wisely as a team. Pray for their Social Enterprises such as handicrafts, socks manufacturing and vegetable farming which will be able to provide better training skills for their trainees to achieve self-sustainability and gainful employment. 5 GOVERNMENT (State, National and International) Pray for the leaders of our state and the national government. Remember especially to intercede for the judiciary (judges) of our nation and the nations of the world. Intercede also for the military, the police and civil servants. It has been more than 100 days since the abduction of Pastor Raymond Koh, and longer for three other persons who had also disappeared. Thank God for an activist group called CAGED which has pledged to continue holding vigil in Dataran Merdeka on the last Saturday of every month until the truth is known. CAGED stands for Citizen Action Group in Enforced Disappearance. As defined by UN, enforced disappearance occurs when a person is secretly abducted or imprisoned by a state or political organisation or by a third party with the authorisation support or acquiescence of a state or political organization. Besides the efforts carried out by CAGED, we thank God that SUHAKAM, the Malaysian Human Rights Commission has also undertaken to seek for the truth behind the disappearances. Pray for wisdom and protection of CAGED and SUHAKAM members. Pray for peace and strength for the families of Pastor Raymond and the other persons who have disappeared. 6 MEDIA (The Press, Television, Internet, Social Network) Ask God to cause all aspects of the media and information technology to become a tool in His hands to change the culture around us for His honour and glory. 7 ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT (including sports) This focus includes all the various fields of the arts and entertainment including sports. Ask God to use Christians in these areas to influence and impact those around them.

God has promised to bless His people abundantly. 1.1 God s promised blessings depend on Him, not on us God says 11x God s names 22x Romans 9:11, Roman 9:16, Philippians 1:6, Jonah 2:9, Matthew 1:21 1.2 God s promises may seem impossible to us, but they are not difficult for Him. Zechariah 8:6 1.3 God s promises always work through a remnant. Zechariah 8:11-12 2. God s promised blessings require a response of holy activity for the Lord. 2.1 Be strong in building the Lord s house. Let your hands be strong 2x Zechariah 8:9,13 Don t be afraid 2x Zechariah 8:13,15 2.2 Be holy in all our conduct 3. We bless others by showing them how to find God Zechariah 8:23 4. Whom do we bless? We bless others near & far. Conclusion Application Questions 1. Why is it important to know that salvation comes totally from God, as opposed to it being a joint venture? 2. If we lack faith in God s promises, how can we get the faith we need? 3. Describe a holy person. How can we be holy and yet relate well to a sinful world? 4. To what extent does a believer have to have it together in order to be involved in ministry to others?
