DAILY PRAYER GUIDE BASED ON THE SEVEN MOUNTAINS OF INFLUENCE (Dick Eastman, 2012) You are encouraged to use the following in your daily intercession. As you are led by the Holy Spirit, pray specifically for our church, other churches, our nation and nations of the world. 1 RELIGION (The Church and her ministries) Pray for the Holy Spirit s anointing on all churches regardless of their denominations. Pray for ministries involved in evangelism and discipleship including foreign missionary activity. Pray for CGMC s Jubilee Year As the Jubilee Year celebrations have been launched, let us continually uphold all the events and activities planned, Pray for our past CGMC pastors who will be coming to preach, that the Lord will speak to each one of them, so that the word and message will be encouraging and prophetic. Pray for Be A Blessing project that will be launched on 29 & 30 July 2017. Pray that every cell group will participate in blessing the less fortunate in our society. 2 FAMILY AND MARRIAGES (Youth, Children, Marriage, etc) Pray for families in general, and particularly for the healing of broken relationships in marriages and families especially among believers and those in Christian ministry. Recently, the government has set up a special criminal court for cases involving sexual crimes against children. Pray that with this court, justice for abused children in our country will be upheld. Scripture Union (SU) celebrated its 55 th Anniversary on 28 May 2017. Pray for SU to reach the Next Generation through Christian Fellowships in schools. Pray for SU to disciple the Next Generation through Going Deep in the Word through Bible Engagement. Pray for cheerful givers to support them in their ministry. 3 EDUCATION (All Schools, Universities, Colleges and Educators) The focus is to pray for all institutions of learning; be they for the very young, as children are so easily influenced, or for those catering for higher education. Pray for teachers and educators. Pray for those whom you know by name.
4 BUSINESS (The Marketplace) This focus involves praying for a spiritual awakening in the marketplace. Pray especially for Christian businessmen and businesswomen that God will use them to influence others in their professions. Pray for major corporations that they will build their companies on a foundation of high moral and ethical standards. 5 GOVERNMENT (State, National and International) Pray for the leaders of our state and the national government. Remember especially to intercede for the judiciary (judges) of our nation and the nations of the world. Intercede also for the military, the police and civil servants. It has been more than 100 days since the abduction of Pastor Raymond Koh, and longer for three other persons who had also disappeared. Thank God for an activist group called CAGED which has pledged to continue holding vigil in Dataran Merdeka on the last Saturday of every month until the truth is known. CAGED stands for Citizen Action Group in Enforced Disappearance. As defined by UN, enforced disappearance occurs when a person is secretly abducted or imprisoned by a state or political organisation or by a third party with the authorisation support or acquiescence of a state or political organization. Besides the efforts carried out by CAGED, we thank God that SUHAKAM, the Malaysian Human Rights Commission has also undertaken to seek for the truth behind the disappearances. Pray for wisdom and protection of CAGED and SUHAKAM members. Pray for peace and strength for the families of Pastor Raymond and the other persons who have disappeared. 6 MEDIA (The Press, Television, Internet, Social Network) Ask God to cause all aspects of the media and information technology to become a tool in His hands to change the culture around us for His honour and glory. 7 ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT (including sports) This focus includes all the various fields of the arts and entertainment including sports. Ask God to use Christians in these areas to influence and impact those around them.
Liberton Prayer Concerns for the Month of July 2017 Our prayer concerns for July are as follows: Please pray for our church leaders as they take a period of rest over the summer months. We pray that they will enjoy this time of travelling and gaining new experiences and will return refreshed to start a new session in September. Please pray also for the preparatory work for new programmes that will be undertaken during this recess by the many Church organisations and their Committees so that we can begin a new session in the autumn with renewed outward focus. Together we can all try to draw closer to God and to each other so that through us, we can make known to our community the joys and challenges of following Jesus. Please pray for our country of Great Britain as she adjusts to a new Parliament with a minority Government. As we face Brexit negotiations with the European Union, it is likely to be a period of some political turmoil and difficulties. The community is also divided with recent national events further aggravating overall cohesion. At uncertain times such as these, we ask you to join us to pray for stability, understanding and unity. Finally, we ask you to remember our city of Edinburgh. Please pray that the influx of visitors from all over the world will be greeted with warmth and enthusiasm, that the Arts scene will flourish and we will all benefit from fresh experiences and encounters.
