Container List 02/10/2009 32-03 ~ documents ~ Congregation 1 1-15 Records from Annual Meetings from 1919 to 2005. Included are minutes, announcements, reminders, correspondences, proposed by-laws, etc. One by-law proposal (found in a letter of Feb. 9, 1932) recommended by the Ritual Committee was to add a short English responsive reading at times during the Friday service, in place of singing a second hymn. Also included is a letter to Senator Pat Harrison of the Foreign Relations Committee about 's approval of "S. Resolution 154" dealing with the matter of German discrimination against Jews and other groups (folder 4). 7/9/08 /Annual Meetings of the Congregation Annual Meetings of the Congregation 1 16-22 Rabbis' reports contain information of annual activities of the synagogue. Some reports are handwritten, but most have been typed. A common thought is the poor attendance at Friday night services. 2 1-14 Annual reports from various committees. The bulk of reports are from the 1960s and 1970s. The 1942 report shows a tremendous amount of work by the congregation towards the war effort. 3 1-7 Annual reports from various committees, 1980-1986. 4 1-14 Annual reports from various committees, 1987-1999. 5 1-7 Various letters, mostly to congregation members. The letters include topics of finance issues, letters of sympathy, letters of congratulations, letters informing the members of various resolutions and decisions, and letters of resignation. A few letters were internal letters sent to other board members (folder 7). 5 8-14 In addition to membership lists, there is a ledger (folder 8) which contains members names, committee lists, some finance information, and other documents.
