Note From the Pastor Bartlett Chapel News may 2015 I know that change is difficult, and it is very hard for Jean and I to say goodbye. Bartlett Chapel has been our home for six and a half years. At the same time, I know the Rev. Jeff Reed and his wife, Linda, will find this church family to be very loving and supportive. One of the great aspects of the United Methodist denomination is our appointment process. Pastors are appointed to churches by the bishop and cabinet, instead of being hired by individual churches. This gives each pastor more authority as spiritual leader, worship leader, preacher and teacher, trainer of laity, administrative leader, and steward of vision. The pastor remains a member of the Indiana Conference instead of an individual church. As Bartlett Chapel looks at new ways to do ministry in a very changing community, Jean and I will keep you our prayers. I hope you will continue to pray for us as we go to Logansport. You were a great source of strength to us all. love, The Dodson family Gail and Ken Soltis wish to thank Bartlett Chapel for the donation to the American Heart Association in loving memory of my mom, Jean Danhoff. I also would like to thank everyone for all the wonderful cards and phone calls. Mom will be greatly missed. Thank you also for the prayers and cards for Ken through his sickness. God has blessed us by walking with us, giving us strength to get through it. Blessings to all, Gail & Ken Soltis Ralph & Jan Kidder would like to thank everyone for your outpouring of sympathy with the passing of my mother, Elsie Cunningham Griffey. We felt so blessed that Pastor Don drove up to Kokomo for Mom s funeral. The memorial gift and cards from so many meant so much to us, and we are so thankful for all of you. We also want to thank Jo Ann Murray for putting my brother Dave Griffey on the prayer chain for so many posts, and for all the prayers from all of you who prayed for Dave, as well as my mom. It was very painful to let go of Dave. He was a wonderful brother, and we miss him so much. Mom, at 102 years, had lived a long life, and none of us ever thought she would be with us so long. Dave was much more difficult to let go of, and we ve grieved so much for his loss, even though we know both Mom and Dave are waiting for us in heaven. Thank you so much for all your prayers and cards. In Christ, Jan & Ralph Kidder
