The goal set by the Archdiocese is $60,480 and we are at 59.5% of that goal with your donations of $36,044. We thank you for your donations and are hoping to hear from more of you soon. Colin Parrish May God bless them in His service! ALTAR SERVER MINISTRY: Altar servers assist the Priest as necessary during Mass. This is an excellent opportunity for both adults and children, grade 6 and up in catholic or public school, to be involved in a parish ministry by having an active role in the celebration of the Mass. Page 3 June 4, 2017 SACRAMENTS YOUNG ADULTS Baptism Preparation Classes: Typically held on the First Saturday of the month for parents and Godparents, these classes cover the origin and deep meaning of this primary Sacrament of Initiation. Join us on July 1 st, September 9 th (*2nd Saturday), or November 4 th. Classes are held in the church and begin following the 9:00AM Mass. Marriage Preparation: Retreats are held here at St. Benedict Parish twice a year. Contact Marti at m.lundberg@stbens.net or 206-518- 6017 for more information on all of these programs. SACRAMENTAL EMERGENCY: Outside of office hours, please call 425-954-3434 SERVING OTHERS Sandwich Making for St. Martin de Porres: We meet tomorrow, Monday, June 5 th at 9:00 AM in the lower level of the Parish Center. We have our PB and J assembly line ready with a place for you! Help make 400 sandwiches for the men s shelter in Seattle on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. Still Fighting Hunger in Wallingford with our ongoing support of FamilyWorks Food Bank. Please bring your non-perishable food items to Mass and place them in the baskets at the back of the church. In 2015 we reached our goal to collect 10,000 pounds of food. We delivered 111 pounds last week. Please help us reach our goal again this year! Cabrini Ministry: If you, or someone you know, are unable to attend Mass and would like the Eucharist brought to you in your home, please call the Parish Office at 206-632-0843 to make arrangements. We always welcome new ministers so call, too, if you are interested in serving as a minister to the homebound. Mass For The Homebound: Every Sunday, Heart of the Nation will televise Catholic Mass at 6::00 AM on KVOS (MeTV) channel 12. Please share the time and channel information with friends or family members that may be unable to get to church. CHILDREN AND YOUTH Children s Liturgy of the Word: Our final session is today for Pentecost. We will begin again after the summer break. Have a safe and wonderful Summer! Benny s Faithful Art: Please note that Benny s Faithful Art has ended for the year. Thank you to all the volunteers that helped out this year. Tonight, Fr. Bryan Dolejsi will meet with young adults after the Sunday 5:00 PM Mass at the Blue Star Café and Pub on Stone Way as part of our growing young adult group. The June 4 th topic is, The Bible: What it is and how to use it. This gathering is for ages 18 to 45 (we will not check ID s). Join us for Mass and then as we gather for an evening of learning, a beer and a time to meet other young adults in the church. SCHOOL NEWS 2017 ST. Last year we won the "Judges Choice" award, and that was due in part to the GREAT attendance by families. Students wear their uniforms, parents and parishioners are encouraged to wear a WurstFest t- shirt or apron. We will have WurstFest yard signs for you to carry as well.
