AUGUST 2008 FROM THE PRESIDENT... See A Friend Be A Friend Share Christ With A Friend Hopefully this phrase sounds a bit familiar to you. It is the basic theme of the ACTION ROLLO that we hear on our Tres Dias Weekend. It is about putting our Piety and Study into Action. I think of the scripture Proverbs 27:17 Let s challenge ourselves to share that kind of love in ACTION in our Tres Dias Community, our church, our home and our world! DeColores Diane Hrubik As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. Iron against iron causes a spark. That spark can be joy, comfort, warmth, love, encouragement, etc, but it is always two lives touching one another with the love of Christ. At our last Secuela, Dan Kearney, our 4 th Day Chair, encouraged us to reach out to someone in our community that you haven t seen or heard from in a while. That was a message that was on my heart as well. Jesus was involved with people, He met them where they were, some alone, some in crowds, in the day and in the night. Some were at the seashore and some in a tax booth. He fed thousands at a time and gave water to a lonely broken-hearted woman. He suffered loneliness, rejection and misunderstanding, identifying with all our hurt and pain. He died and rose again giving each of us a hope and a future. Pray for our new and returning officers to fulfill the purposes of Christ in Tres Dias Cleveland Pres: Diane Hrubik Vice Pres: Bernie Melster Sec: Lisa Pringle Treas: Jim Hart Asst Treas: Denise Palma 4th Day Chair: Dan Kearney Reunion Group Chair: Cindy Gecik Outreach Chair: Birgit Rudden Inventory Chair: Jim Crytzer Palanca Coordinator: Diane Harsch To strengthen the local church by providing a continuing atmosphere for individuals to share and experience the living Christ.

TRES DIAS INTERNATIONAL 40 TH ANNUAL ASSEMBLY Hosted by Tres Dias Cleveland Held at Bay Presbyterian Church ~ July 10-12, 2009 Please pray daily for this gathering. Pray how you can be involved in its preparation. Save the dates. Plan to attend the event. Meet Pescadores from all over the world! In particular, plan to attend the Barbeque/Potluck/Secuela as part of the weekend, during which we will celebrate the 15 th Anniversary of Tres Dias Cleveland! We will invite all Pescadores from the 35 TD CLE Weekends, as well as all current and former Spiritual Directors. We would love to have an overwhelming turn-out from our Community, to welcome our guests and to praise our gracious Lord in a mighty way! Please contact Assembly Chair Pam Belknap (440-442-4922) or pbelknap@ameritech.net to volunteer. We need to start preparations A.S.A.P.! Officers: Financial Secretary (collects checks from guests) Treasurer: Lisa Corwin Recording Secretary (takes minutes on Saturday) Registrar (collects and records registration) Committees: Registration/Admin. Facilities (Bay Presb. & Holiday Inn Westlake) Special Event (possible concert at Blossom) Music Food: Ernie Palma, Chair Auxes (serving, hanging banners, clean-up, etc.) Housing (securing rooms in local homes for some guests) Transportation (working w/holiday Inn transport & providing extra rides, as needed) Palanca (written or small trinkets for our guests) Monthly updates will be provided on our website, as well as in the newsletter. Most jobs will have some planning and will be labor intensive during the weekend. Other jobs (like palanca) can/must be done prior to the weekend. This is a fun opportunity for our entire Community to work together, men and women rolling up your sleeves, utilizing your training, experience, interests, creativity and abilities. Pray how you can serve God through this experience! SOUNDS OF SECRETARIAT: We set tentative dates for all Seculas through September 2009. All Seculas will be on Saturday evenings with the exception of October 3, which will be a Friday night so we will not conflict with the Men s Team preparations. At the October 3 Secuela we will vote on a change in By-laws. The changes are: 1) Article 3 Section 3 we will add Reunion Group Chair to the Standing Committee list. 2) Article 4 Section 4 and Treasurer job description, The treasurer may make deposits in the absence of the Asst Treasurer. MEN S WEEKEND-CEDAR HILLS Greetings brothers and sisters! The preparation for Men's #17 will be getting into full swing in the month of September as the team commissioning kicks off a flurry of activities leading up to the much anticipated weekend of October 16 to 19. Please remember that the Tres Dias community is part of the Church universal in which God has arranged the parts of the body, EVERY ONE OF THEM, just as He wanted them to be (I Corinthians 12:18). The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body - whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free - and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. (I Corinthians 12:12,13) We as the body of Christ the Church, the Tres Dias community, must work together with a joyful spirit to serve each other and the candidates. We all have the responsibility to demonstrate God's agape love and grace to the candidates and each other. In preparing for this weekend I have seen the immensity of this task just in regards to this Men's #17 weekend and I have an even deeper appreciation for the community and commitment of those in Tres Dias Cleveland. Please pray for the team and the candidates that God would give us the "Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you (we) may know Him better" and that the "eyes of our heart may be enlightened in order that you (we) may know the hope to which He has called you (us), the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints." Ephesians 1:17,18 On behalf of the men's #17 team we cannot do this without your help and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Nor would we want to do so. I implore you - be Christ's ambassador. Help men be reconciled to God! De Colores! It has been especially rewarding to witness the contributions of Pescadores who have never volunteered to our community before jumping in with both feet in the name of the Lord to help make the weekend a success! We are still in need of a few people to assist with facility cleanup early Sunday afternoon. We also could use a couple of burly (yet gentle) men to assist with handling luggage between 6-7:30 pm on site on Thursday evening! Please call me at 330-714-3026 if the Spirit has placed this type of service on your heart! Ladies, don't forget to mark your calendar early Sunday Morning (Oct 19th) to visit Cedar Hills to sing for the men! Finally everyone should be expecting a call in early October from a community member inquiring about Palanca donations as well so please keep your hearts open to their calls and requests! The following people have graciously opened their homes up to serve as Palanca drop off sites: North - Charles/Patty Palyu (M/W13) 1379 East 52nd Street Cleveland 44103 (216) 361-3499 Nwest - Ed/Trish Dietz (M/W15) 42 Pond Drive Rocky River 44116 (440) 331-3994 Swest - Becky Caputo - (W9) - 7216 West Baldwin Reserve Drive, Midd Hts 44130 (440) 886-5674 Neast - Sandy Seiz - (W13) 996 Ford Road Highland Hts 44124 (440) 442-4446 Seast - Fred McQuary (M14) 12059 Waywood Dr Twinsburg 44280 (216) 410-0914 Akron - David Miller 3032 Chamberlain Road Fairlawn 44333 (330) 836-4067 To strengthen the local church by providing a continuing atmosphere for individuals to share and experience the living Christ. 3
