Church Life Updates Welcome to Our Newest! On Sunday, December 30, Mike and Kathy McKnight joined our church by transfer of letter. Although the McKnights have been worshiping with us regularly for some time, we re thrilled to have them become an official part of our church family. If you d like to send them a word of welcome, their address is: 141 Wedgewood Dr., Mount Airy NC 27030. Blood Drive: Today, a blood drive will take place from 11 AM to 3:30 PM in the fellowship hall. If you are an eligible donor, we encourage you to participate in this life-saving ministry. For more information, contact Jessica Simandle. Midweek Activities for the New Year: Our regular Midweek Activities resume on Wednesday, January 9 beginning with a snack supper at 5:45 PM. Our adult study will be led by John Cawley and will focus on the Book of Jonah. It s a Boy!: Kenny and Amy Nowlin invite you to a baby shower on Sunday, January 13 from 2 to 4 PM in the Fellowship Hall for their daughter Kasey Meadows and her husband Corey. The Meadows are expecting their second child and are registered at Target and Walmart. Discovering Calvary: Pastor Alex will lead a three-week Discovering Calvary class on January 13, 20 and 27. The class will meet during Sunday School from 10:00 to 10:40 in Room 112 on the lower level of the Educational Building. This class is provided so that non-members and members alike can get a better understanding of our church s mission and ministry. Sabbatical Information & Input: You re invited to participate in two dialogue sessions one on January 20 and the other on January 27 to ask questions and offer suggestions related to the sabbatical grant for which our pastor and congregation are applying. Both sessions will take place in the Chapel from 3 to 4:30 in the afternoon. Gearing Up for Ministry in 2019: We encourage our 2019 committees and ministry teams to meet as soon as possible to select chairpersons. Please notify the church office of any scheduling and resources your group may need. Pastor Alex would also like to meet with your group to discuss ministry plans for the coming year. If you are not on a committee, but would like to serve (even as a non-member) please contact Alex Martin or Alex Bracey.
