A cry-room is available for children ages 0-4 in the library. *Those who are able are invited to stand PRELUDE WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS Mr. Maxim Pakhomov Rev. Dale Rosenberger, Senior Minister PASSING OF THE PEACE HYMN #469 A MIGHTY FORTRESS IS OUR GOD *CALL TO WORSHIP Rejoice in the new beginnings of morning; give thanks for light, even through clouds. God has spoken to us and will meet us here; we live in covenant with the Life Everlasting. Gather in the spirit of Jesus, whose name we bear. Thank God for the truth that lives in spite of death. We celebrate the faithful witness of Jesus Christ, and we seek to share the good news of his reign. The Spirit encounters our teachable spirits here; the Spirit points us to what always matters most. God anoints us for ministry, extending our call. God s word is on our lips, that all might believe. (responsively) *OPENING PRAYER *LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen. 2

*GLORIA PATRI BAPTISM OF CHARLES MARSHALL AND CHRISTOPHER CAUFFMAN TOOTHAKER CHILDREN S DISMISSAL JOYS AND CONCERNS MOMENT OF SILENCE OLD TESTAMENT LESSON JEREMIAH 31:7-9 Liz Werner, Deacon (8:30) Mandy Teare, Deacon (10:00) For thus says the Lord: Sing aloud with gladness for Jacob, and raise shouts for the chief of the nations; proclaim, give praise, and say, Save, O Lord, your people, the remnant of Israel. See, I am going to bring them from the land of the north, and gather them from the farthest parts of the earth, among them the blind and the lame, those with child and those in labor, together; a great company, they shall return here. With weeping they shall come, and with consolations I will lead them back, I will let them walk by brooks of water, in a straight path in which they shall not stumble; for I have become a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. *HYMN #306 CHILD OF BLESSING, CHILD OF PROMISE 3

GOSPEL LESSON JOHN 18:33-37 Then Pilate entered the headquarters again, summoned Jesus, and asked him, Are you the King of the Jews? Jesus answered, Do you ask this on your own, or did others tell you about me? Pilate replied, I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the chief priests have handed you over to me. What have you done? Jesus answered, My kingdom is not from this world. If my kingdom were from this world, my followers would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jews. But as it is, my kingdom is not from here. Pilate asked him, So you are a king? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice. SERMON WHERE DO YOU TAKE YOUR LEAD? Rev. Rosenberger OFFERTORY PSALM 95 (responsive) R.J. We offer more than money, even ourselves. May the care and comfort we share with those in need only draw them closer to you, O God.
