The Costly Gift Mark 14:3 Bob Enriquez While he was in Bethany, reclining at the table in the home of Simon the Leper, a woman came with an alabaster jar of very expensive perfume, made of pure nard. She broke the jar and poured the perfume on his head. The Critics Rebuke Mark 14:4-5 Stan Navrude Some of those present were saying indignantly to one another, Why this waste of perfume? 5 It could have been sold for more than a year s wages [a] and the money given to the poor. And they rebuked her harshly. The Divine Rebuke & Affirmation Mark 14:6 Don Dropps Leave her alone, said Jesus. Why are you bothering her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. Jesus Turns the Insult on its Head Mark 14:7 Will Boyll The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them any time you want. But you will not always have me. She Did What She Could Mark 14:8-9 Pastor Charles Rasmussen She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body beforehand to prepare for my burial. Truly I tell you, wherever the gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told, in memory of her.

Message Pastor Charles Rasmussen " She Did What She Could" Communion Communion Bread "Let us Break Bread Together" For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me. Communion Cup "Let us Break Bread Together" "In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me. For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord s death until he comes. Missions White Fields Steve and Coral Wheeler White Fields specializes in providing collaborative startup support for pastors planting local churches among their own people in eleven countries around the world. White Fields is committed to developing strong selfsupporting national churches by providing a full-time base salary for one year. The amount is decreased by 25% each year until after 5 years the church is standing on its own. Local committees are established in the countries where White Fields operates to select and train men to begin planting a church. The focus of White Fields is global and does not support church planters in North America. Their vision is that their approach will be widely recognized and embraced as a great way for North American Christians to personally participate in advancing the Gospel. Pray for Steve Wheeler as he gives direction to the mission. A special Thank You Message from Still Creek Boys & Girls Ranch: "The children and staff of the Still Creek are so Blessed by your recent donation. We cannot provide this ministry without you support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!" James Inmon Persecuted Church Held 670 days John Cao Arrested March 2017 in China

On March 5, 2017, police arrested Cao San-Qiang (John Cao), a Chinese pastor known for his work among Myanmar s poor. Authorities charged Pastor Cao with organizing illegal crossings of national borders and, one year later, sentenced him to seven years in prison. Pastor Cao, 58, is married to an American citizen and is a long-time resident of North Carolina. The pastor, who is currently being held in the Menglian Detention Center, had been crossing the border between China and Myanmar for three years without incident and with the knowledge of Chinese officials. In the Wa State of northern Myanmar, Pastor Cao helped build 16 schools that serve 2,000 impoverished children. He also established educational projects to help alleviate poverty among local minority groups. Experts believe his arrest and sentencing are related to the ruling Communist Party s attempts to control the house church movement.pastor Cao became a believer in his 20s. After he married an American citizen, attended seminary and settled in the U.S., he felt led to return as a missionary to his home country of China. He worked for many years establishing schools in China before turning his attention to neighboring Myanmar in 2014. According to his son, his work in Myanmar was much more humanitarian than his previous work with the house churches in China. Pray for the pastor s wife, Jamie Powell, and their sons, Benjamin and Amos. https://www.prisoneralert.com/pprofiles/vp_prisoner_264_profile.html
