(GREETING: The Peace of Christ be with you. RESPONSE: And also with you.)
Prelude *Call to Worship One: Most gracious Lord, we come before you today a people worried and anxious about the things we see in the world around us. Many: We acknowledge it is often easier to look after our own wellbeing than to remember the plight of others who seem different and distant. One: We forget to follow Your commandment to us to be our brother s keeper and to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. Many: In our haste to find our own security and in our ignorance of evil in the world, we often fail to defend the widow, help the orphan, rescue the enslaved and seek justice for the poor and oppressed. One: For the Lord does not despise the poor and needy, but when they cry out, God answers them. And when we also answer those cries with love for others in Your name, we act as you created us to be. All: Help us, Lord, to be the people you created us to be as the body of Christ. Help us live together in peace, seeking freedom and justice for those who have none, loving and caring for one another as you love and care for us all. *Hymn I Sing the Mighty Power of God #12 COMING ALIVE IN COMMUNITY Children s Circle (Blue slips will be collected at this time) Choir Anthem - The Hands of Love by Joseph M. Martin Sharing Joys and Concerns (Prayers of the People) The Lord s Prayer (Unison) All: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Giving Our Tithes/Call to Generosity Every week we are offered the chance to give, to experience joy in furthering God s justice and love in the world. As we are thankful, so may we give.
