Hope Lutheran Church 4131 Lehigh Drive, Cherryville, PA 18035-030 (610) 767-7203 hopecherryville.org March 16, 2014 Second Sunday in Lent During Lent we journey with all those around the world who will be baptized at the Easter Vigil. In today's gospel Jesus tells Nicodemus that he must be born of water and Spirit. At the font we are given a new birth as daughters and sons of God. As God made a covenant with Abraham, in baptism God promises to raise us up with Christ to new life. From worship we are sent forth to proclaim God's love for all the world. CHURCH STAFF Pastor Rev. We challenge you to see God in times of trouble, disaster and change. Join us as we notice God in challenging times. March 16-22: Read together Matthew 8:23-27 (Spark page 286). The disciples were afraid of the storm. They cried out to Jesus for help. Create a water bottle storm. Supplies you will need include a clear plastic bottle, water, small pebbles, plastic confetti, glitter and whatever else you would like to place in there. Place a few of the items in the bottle. Fill the bottle with water. Shake the bottle and watch the storm. How long does it take for the items to settle once the shaking has stopped? Thank God for the calm that follows stormy weather.
