A place for faith and fellowship with family and friends. Rev. Mike Winters Pastor Ben Harding Music Director Dr. Ray Jones, Jr. Pastor Emeritus WISE BAPTIST NEWS A PUBLICATION FOR MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF WISE BAPTIST CHURCH Dear Church Family and Friends, Promises made, but not fulfilled. A gap between the now and the not-yet. Life is often lived in that gap. That is the gap, the tension with which the prophet Daniel lives. Jerusalem was destroyed by Babylon. Daniel and a large group were exiled in Babylon for 70 years. Daniel writes to a discouraged people, who are on the brink of giving up. The book of Daniel records three dreams of the king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar. He was undisputedly, the most powerful man in the world. He had three dreams. His best advisors could not interpret them. Nebuchadnezzar had to depend on Daniel, the prophet of a captive people. Further, Daniel predicts both the humbling of the king and the end of his empire. When Daniel writes these words, not all have come true. Every chapter affirms that God is the One guiding history and that God is always greater than anyone or anything we face. After Daniel writes these words and promises, they do come true. We live in the gap between promises made by God and those fulfilled. Take heart and be encouraged. God is faithful and true.
