The major work performed will be Josef Haydn s beloved Mass in Times of Anguish, Missa in Angustiis, which is called the Lord Nelson Mass, so named because Napoleon s armies were set to invade Austria when this work was being completed and times were grim; however, on the day of the mass s premier performance, Admiral Horatio Nelson stunned the world by defeating Napoleon and that is why the mass then became known as the Lord Nelson Mass. Church Community Activities MOVIES WITH MEANING April 1 st at 2 p.m. April 1st Movie is the same movie listed for March that was not shown because of late arrival of the DVD in the mail. A Ugandan girl's life changes forever when she discovers she has an amazing talent for chess, in this celebration of the human spirit. Phiona Mutesi, an illiterate girl from a fourthworld slum in Uganda, learns chess and, step by painful step, rides it all the way to the Olympiad in Russia...This isn't a movie about chess, it's a story of people. Join us in the fellowship hall at 2 p.m. for popcorn, drinks, and a discussion after the movie.
