THE WOMAN REV 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: 2 And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. The identity of the woman is central to our understanding of this chapter. The Roman Catholic Church maintains that the woman is either the Church or 8 the Virgin Mary.

THE WOMAN The Catholic Church believes this represents Satan s attack against the Church, the true Israel of the OT [Old Testament] and NT [New Testament]. This passage has been used to teach Mary's assumption into heaven and being crowned Queen of Heaven. Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science, claimed the woman represented herself, and the "dragon is mortal mind" attempting to destroy her new religion. 9

THE WOMAN There are those today that teach that this chapter is referring to the Church and the Rapture of the church, ignoring completely the understanding of the disappearance of the church from the pages of Revelation after Revelation chapter 3 until Revelation chapter 19. It has become fashionable to use astronomy software in this chapter to demonstrate that the church is in view here. 10

THE WOMAN A case may be made that the woman clothed with the Sun and the Moon under her feet is referring to the constellation Virgo and that John is identifying the actual birth date of Jesus, although this is not essential to our understanding of this chapter. For those interested, I have two newsletters that address what is known as the Gospel in the stars. What I m about to show you is speculation, but very interesting. 11

THE WOMAN The so-called Gospel in the stars is highly speculative, and not essential to our understanding of this chapter. The so-called Gospel in the stars should not be a substitute for the inspired Word of God we possess in our Bible we now possess the true Word of God. If true, the Gospel in the stars may have been an early attempt to use the constellations to remember an early revealing of God s plan for salvation and 12 redemption described by Genesis 3:15.

THE WOMAN Gen 3:14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. 13

THE WOMAN Genesis 3:15 is the very first prophecy in the Bible. It is referred to as the proto-evangelium and it could be the basis for man creating the story line in the constellations as a memory tool, since there were no Bibles written down at that time. This too is speculation. Some believe that the original meaning of the Zodiac was corrupted at Babel by Nimrod s supposed wife Semiramis. 14

THE WOMAN Astronomy software can demonstrate the sign showing it corresponding to the Birth date of Christ between 6:15PM and 7:45PM on 11 September 3BC, because the context of this sign is the birth of Christ. However, to search out a similar future alignment and say that it represents the Rapture on a certain date is pure eisegesis, that is, the purposeful reading into Scripture something that is not already there; neither is that subject part of the context. 15

THE WOMAN The woman is described as "a great wonder in heaven." The word translated "wonder" means "signs." It therefore represents something symbolic. It may or may not have anything to do with the actual birth date of Christ. 17

THE WOMAN However, I have done a thorough study on that possibility for anyone that may be interested. (see: Creation Revelation, THE STAR OVER BETHLEHEM, at www.creationrevelation.org). The symbolism cannot be the Church or Mary. (See also: the companion article, THE WOMAN, THE SEED, AND THE DRAGON, that addresses the additional symbolism of Another sign in Heaven. 18

THE WOMAN According to this view, the other sign represents the Cosmic Battle of the Dragon in astronomical terms of the so-called Gospel in the Stars. Several theologians and teachers support this concept of the Gospel in the Stars (Seiss, Bullinger, D. James Kennedy, and Henry Morris). I find the subject interesting but am cautious to support it as it is highly speculative your Bible is today the Word of God, you do not 19 need astronomy.

THE WOMAN It is easy to get sidetracked. For this lesson, I will stick with the evidence of the Scriptures as presented in the Bible rather than ancient astronomy. It is good to keep aware of signs that point to the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ, we are to stay alert and watch. The Bible is the only truth we have, be wary of truth that is read into the Bible. Now notice this prophecy of Joseph's 20 dream from Genesis:

THE WOMAN GEN 37:9 And he [the patriarch Joseph] dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. Genesis 37:9 is symbolic of Israel Joseph s father was Israel (Jacob). The crown of twelve stars on the woman's head represents the twelve patriarchs that became the nation of Israel. 21

THE WOMAN The twelve stars represent the patriarch Joseph and his eleven brothers. It was Israel that brought forth the manchild that would bless the world. This cannot be the Church, because it was Israel that gave birth to the Messiah. Remember Chronologically the Church is gone after Revelation chapter 3 while God now deals with Israel it is the time of Jacob s trouble (Jer 30:7), not the Church s. 22

THE WOMAN The Sun represents Jacob and the Moon represents his wife Rachel in Joseph s dream. The Sun is a source of light; the Moon is a reflector of the Sun's light. These are symbolic of Israel as God's light-bearer to the world. 23

THE WOMAN Today it is the church, you and I, which is God's "lamp stand." During the Tribulation it will be the remnant of Israel, particularly the 144,000 sealed Jews of Revelation 7, that is the light bearer. According to Merrill Unger the purpose of these signs is to introduce the characters who will be on stage during the final days before Christ s return, the Tribulation. 24

PERSON 1: THE WOMAN First Sign: Rev 12:1 The Woman Israel. First Sign: Rev 12:2 The Woman in Labor Israel s agony during the Tribulation. During her Travail the nation will give birth to a Godly Jewish remnant, closely associated with the Male Child as we will soon see. Mic 5:3 until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the 25 children of Israel.

THE GREAT RED DRAGON REV 12:3 And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. PERSON 2: Second Sign: Rev 12:3 Satan. Satan will be presented in his prophetic view and his historical perspective. 27

THE GREAT RED DRAGON Revelation 12:3 refers to Satan as a "red" dragon since Satan is the motivator of much of the bloodshed in man's history. The "seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns" point to a future government dominated by the Antichrist. I believe the move toward a global government today is the precursor to this end-time event. 28

THE GREAT RED DRAGON These heads, horns, and crowns are symbols of the earthly power that Satan claims. The dragon represents both Satanic power and the empire. The seven heads represent succeeding evil world empires controlled by Satan leading up to the final world empire, revived Rome. 29

THE GREAT RED DRAGON We will discuss this beast in further detail in another lesson, but the heads represent Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, and revived Rome. The ten horns and seven heads represent Satan s power over the kingdoms and kings of the world. 30

THE GREAT RED DRAGON REV 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. "Stars" are symbols of angels. This verse speaks of Satan's rebellion and fall. He convinced a third of the angels to side with him against God. 31

THE GREAT RED DRAGON Even after his initial fall, Satan still had access to heaven. The remainder of this verse refers to Satan's continuous war (the cosmic battle) with the Seed of the woman. The first prophecy of the Bible speaks of the Cosmic Battle. GEN 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. 32

THE GREAT RED DRAGON Ever since Satan deceived Eve and Cain killed Abel this battle has raged. We see it in the attempt to pollute the antidiluvian world with the Serpent's seed as described in Genesis 6. GEN 6:2 the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. (Continued) 33

THE GREAT RED DRAGON 4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. Later, Satan attempted to destroy the Israelites in Egypt as described in Exodus chapters 1 and 2. 34

THE GREAT RED DRAGON The viciousness of Satan's attack on the Jews can be seen from reading the account in Esther (Est 3:8-11). Several attempts by Satan were made after Christ's birth including Herod's slaughter of the innocents (Matthew 2:16) and Satan's attempt to get Jesus to jump from the pinnacle of the temple in Matthew 4:5-7. 35

THE GREAT RED DRAGON MAT 4:5 Then the devil taketh him [Jesus] up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, 6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. 7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. 36

THE GREAT RED DRAGON Another example of an attempt by Satan to destroy the Messianic line was the Egyptian Pharaoh s ordering the slaughter of the Hebrew male children where Moses was saved in a floating basket (Exodus 1:22). Until the Messiah was born, Israel was the focus of Satan s attacks the church did not exist, and here the church is missing since last seen in Revelation chapter 3. 37

THE GREAT RED DRAGON Satan still continues his attacks against Israel today in order to prevent the Second Coming (Rev 19:11-21) when Christ finally establishes the Messianic Kingdom (Millennium) promises to Israel (Mic 4:7; Dan 7:18, 22, 27; Jer 23:5-8, 30:9, 33:14-21). The context of chapter 12 supports the view that the woman is Israel, particularly when you factor in the prophecy of Micah 5:2-3. 38

THE GREAT RED DRAGON Mic 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. 3 Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel. 39

THE WOMAN S MAN CHILD REV 12:5 And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne. PERSON 3: Third Sign: Rev 12:3 The Male Child (Messiah/Christ). 41

THE WOMAN S MAN CHILD The woman and her Child (the Seed) are the answer to the reason that anti- Semitism has dominated history throughout the last 2000 years. The woman depicted here is Israel, out of which would eventually emerge the promised Messiah. 42

THE WOMAN S MAN CHILD Messiah is to rule with a "rod of iron." PSA 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed. 9 Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel. 43

THE WOMAN S MAN CHILD REV 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. REV 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 44

THE WOMAN S MAN CHILD That the Child was "caught up" was fulfilled in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, and that He is at the throne of God is seen in the following: REV 5:1 And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. 3 And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. (Cont.) 45

THE WOMAN S MAN CHILD 5 And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. 7 And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. 46

GOD PROTECTS THE WOMAN REV 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. This verse speaks of God's preservation of the remnant of Israel, not a hiding place for the church, during the seven-year Tribulation. Israel will be hidden by God for 3-1/2 years. The threat will come to Israel at the midpoint of the Tribulation Matt 24:15. 48

GOD PROTECTS THE WOMAN Thus, we see that Israel is especially cared for by God for the remaining 3 1/2 years, "a thousand two hundred and threescore days" (1260 days). Notice these verses in Isaiah: ISA 33:15 He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil; (Continued) 49

GOD PROTECTS THE WOMAN 16 He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure. God is going to protect and feed the remnant, the third of Israel that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly. Some believe that Petra, in Jordan, a rock city within a mountainous area of Edom, is the place God has prepared for the 50 remnant of Israel at this time.

GOD PROTECTS THE WOMAN Because of its location, approached by a narrow passage within the mountain, Petra is easy to defend. Others contend that Petra is not a large enough stronghold to provide shelter for a large remnant of Israel. However, Petra is identified as the "strong city" of Psalm 60:9. Psa 60:9 Who will bring me into the strong city? Who will lead me into Edom? 51

GOD PROTECTS THE WOMAN In Isaiah we find Petra mentioned as a hiding place for God's outcasts from the hand of the "spoiler." The following verses probably refer to the future flight of Israel from the hand of the Beast in the tribulation period. ISA 16:1 Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela [Petra] to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion. (Continued) 52

GOD PROTECTS THE WOMAN 2 For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon. 3 Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray [betray] not him that wandereth. 4 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert [shelter or hiding place] to them from the face of the spoiler: 53

GOD PROTECTS THE WOMAN An event that has just developed this week [April 2018] is that the Saudi Prince has declared Israel s right to exist. New York Times 3 April 2018 Petra is in Jordan which is usually a fairly moderate Arab nation similar to Saudi Arabia. 54

THE COSMIC BATTLE In the next lesson we will discuss a great Cosmic Battle prophesied in Genesis 3:15. Gen 3:14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: (Continued) 56

THE COSMIC BATTLE 15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Genesis 3:15 is the very first prophecy of the Bible. It is known as the Protoevangelium. It describes the continuous war between Satan s seed and the woman s Seed. 57

THE COSMIC BATTLE It also speaks of a woman producing a Seed which refers to the virgin birth of Jesus Christ. Notice that the battle will be between Satan and Christ. Satan s seed against the woman s Seed until finally the Messiah, Jesus Christ, will defeat Satan with a mortal blow to his head. 58

THE COSMIC BATTLE In Genesis 3:14-15 it is important to note that this is the judgment on Satan, since at no other time in Scripture do we see an explicit judgment of Satan s evil act of deceiving mankind other than the mention of his iniquity in Ezekiel 28:12-19 (see also: Isa 14:12-15). 59

THE COSMIC BATTLE In Genesis 3:14 it is also important to note the similarities with Revelation 12:7-10 when considering that in Revelation we see the conclusion and deporting of Satan from Heaven s access. 60

PROPHECY UPDATE An event that has just developed this week [April 2018] is that the Saudi Prince has declared Israel s right to exist. New York Times 3 April 2018 This week there are thousands of people marching toward our southern border that plan on seeking asylum. They are assisted by an world without borders group reportedly financed by George Soros and others out to thwart our immigration policies. 62

PROPHECY UPDATE Congress has failed in their duty to protect our borders. Congressional members (globalists) of both Parties are complicit in leading this nation toward a NEW WORLD ORDER (NWO), a global world government similar to the control of the world by Antichrist we will see as we progress through the remainder of Revelation. We have been teaching of this danger for many years. 63

PROPHECY UPDATE A one-world government was the downfall of Nimrod at the Tower of Babel. God at that time divided mankind into separate nations (Gen 10-11). God can deal with individual nations without punishing the entire world, such as He did during the worldwide flood. 64

PROPHECY UPDATE What is taking place as we speak is the progressive formation of a NORTH AMERICAN UNION (NAU) of which some mention is beginning to show up on Fox, even though they usually refrain discussing elements of the conspiratorial view of history. 65

PROPHECY UPDATE The NORTH AMERICAN FREE TRADE AGREEMENT (NAAFTA) was a preliminary step toward that goal, similar to the preliminary trade agreements in Europe before a full blown EUROPEAN UNION (EU) was achieved. The EU was brought along slowly over time to achieve acquiescence by the people. The NAU is a necessary step toward completion of a ten-region economic division of the world, possibly the beast 66 with 10 horns (Rev 12:3; 13:1).

PROPHECY UPDATE The US, Mexico, Central America, and Canada economic merger would finally complete the 10 economic regions of the world as proposed by the CLUB OF ROME in 1973, possibly the ten horned beast of Rev 12:3; 13:1. The NAU has been designated as Region 1 while the EUROPEAN UNION is Region 2. Most of the Regions have been completed at this time, the NAU remains to be completed. 67

PROPHECY UPDATE Be assured that open borders are essential to this formation. Most Americans will have difficulty with the loss of sovereignty that will be part of the NWO, with loss of the guarantees of the US Constitution. Therefore, Americans are being sidetracked with fake news that distracts them away from what is actually taking place, the loss of their liberty, culture, Constitution, and nation. 68

PROPHECY UPDATE I am an Independent voter, but leading Democrats together with leading Republicans and a few RINOs are herding America toward the goal of bringing this nation into a globalist one-world government by stealth. If we allow those Democrats, Republicans, and RINOs to regain or control the government then this will surely be the reality you will certainly lose your culture and Constitution, and the United States will be no more as sovereignty disappears. 69

PROPHECY UPDATE All of the protests are supported, financed, and organized by the Left for this ultimate goal. This is why that President Trump is so vehemently opposed, he was never intended to win, and particularly he is a reformer. No reformer is ever intended to win, it overturns the status quo of both Parties and destroys their power. 70

PROPHECY UPDATE It is now being reported that Mexico has stopped the migration after President Trump threatened to stop NAFTA, Mexico s cash cow. This is the story that is not being told - Wake up Americans!!! Things are not always what they seem. 71
