Bynum, truly embraces the concept of our Midyear theme New Days, New Ways. While serving as the youngest city council member in Tulsa, Oklahoma s history, he was invited to participate in the Moneyball program. It s based on the philosophy of Billy Beane, Executive V.P. of the Oakland A s, who transformed baseball by ignoring the scouts and using data to build championship teams on a limited budget. Moneyball for Government encourages governments at all levels to use data when investing limited taxpayer dollars. Now he and his team are channeling the pioneering spirit of his community to create new opportunity with data-driven decision making.
