The Bullet Hole December 2018 Next Monthly Shoot January 20th - Shooters meeting at 9:30 a.m. From our President; Greetings to all It s December again and that means another year has passed. The club had a really good year and when I looked back on it I found that we had a truly great year in my opinion. Except for February which was cancelled because of weather we were blessed the rest of the year with pretty good weather and lots of shooters. During the year we had a total of 203 shooters come out and enjoy a day of burning powder. That s a little over 18 shooters per match and I am happy with that. We had a lot of clean matches pins to give out and that s also a good sign. It means that we have a bunch of shooters that come out to have a good time and take the time to hit targets and that is always good because it means that we are paying attention to safety first. Smithy s Revenge usually well attended saw 24 shooters and was a huge success with a lot of things going on other than the shoot such as two tables full goodies and of course the little rifle on the raffle. The Turkey shoot drew 18 this year and I am told it went smoothly

We had 30 at the Christmas dinner. It was a good meal as always and a nice get together seeing some old friends and new friends. We ran the gamut of some members going back 20 years up to some of our newest members. I think everyone had a good time. By now you have all heard of the problems at the range. What I know talking with the Carson Rifle and Pistol club Is that evidence was found that some idiot or idiots put targets on the top of the berms at the bays. Evidently some rounds landed in the land fill area where people were working. No one knows for sure if the rounds did come from the range but, the powers that be in city government unloaded the whole thing onto the Carson club. That is why the range cannot be open unless there is a range safety officer present. We are good to go for the time being but bear in mind that this could change depending. At this point we have no idea how this is going to play out. Keep in touch and I will keep in touch with you as new information comes in. like I said we are good for the coming year for our matches. As I said at the beginning the club had a great year. The only thing that would make it better would if more folks got into writing some stages and pulling a trailer once in a while. Speaking for the board I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Fair winds and following seas Tahoe Bill From SMITY HOWDY SHOOTERS, WAS GO TO SEE EVERYONE THIS MONTH. IT WAS A TAD COOL BUT THE STAGES LOOKED GOOD, FUN TO SHOOT - THANKS TO JACKPOT JERRY FOR THOSE. I HOPE THE TWO GENTLEMEN THAT REPRESENTED THE CARSON RIFLE-PISTOL CLUB ANSWERED SOME QUESTIONS CONCERNING THE RANGE. I THINK WE WILL BE O.K UNTIL APRIL 1ST, A CHANGE OF RANGE MANAGEMENT WILL TAKE PLACE ON THAT DATE. HOPE FOR THE BEST. THEY DID SAY THAT WE WERE ONE OF THE SAFEFEST GROUPS OUT THERE. GOOD JOB ALL!!!! THERE WERE A FEW CLEAN SHOOTERS THIS MONTH, ALWAYS GOOD TO SEE THAT. Doc Holiday Dutch Dalton Jeremiah Jonathan Longarm Washoe Monty

ALSO LOTS OF HELP RUNNING THE SHOOT. WITH A GROUP EFFORT THINGS WILL RUN SMOOTH! I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND I WISH EVERYONE THE BEST IN THE NEW YEAR. KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY AND THE CAMPFIRE BURNING. SMITHY
